I can't seem to open SQLS2k Stored Procedures in the IDE
I am running MDE 2003 Version 7.1.3088
I have a MSDN professional subscription and did a complete install of
vs.net
Help explains how to do it:
1. In Server Explorer, expand the Stored Procedures folder.
2. Double-click the name of the stored procedure you want to open.

Hi, I am creating a user name system in which each user is assigned 100 different types of
permissions. Is it better to create a table with one row for each user and 101 columns (1 for userid
and 100 for permission values) or 3 columns (1 for userid, 1 for permission id, one for permission
value) and then 100 rows for each user or something else?

I know I can get the current username through the System.Environment class,
but I can't seem to find where I can retrieve the user's role / permission
level (i.e. Admin, power user, etc).
If anyone has done this and can shed some light on the issue I would
appreciate it.
TIA,
Matt

Is it possible to detect the SQLS2K column level permission for the
logged in user.
I want to be able to hide a control or Button based on user permission
to edit that column.
Can anyone direct me to example code for this?
Thank you,
Doug

I have a system on a network and want to determine if anyone is currently
connected to the back-end files.
An interesting twist is that I have noticed that some users can be connected
(have the front end open at the first form) and even though this links to
the back-end files, there are no ldb files created.
This is so I know when it is safe to compact the back-end files without
going round to make sure everyone is logged off. User...

Ok, I've tried searching, and haven't found the answer, so it must mean
everyone else but me already knows this. I have an Access 2000 form
that I want to connect to an Access 2000 table in the same database.
What I am able to do is create a connection string, explicitly giving
my admin-level userId and password, and it works. But when I try to
create a connection string that doesn't use this explicit definition, I
get permission issues,...

I want to add a feature to a project I'm working on where i have
multiple users set up on my Postgres database with varying levels of
access. At the bare minimum there will be a login user who only has
read access to the users table so that users can log in. Once a user
has been logged in successfully I want to escalate that user's access
level to one appropriate to their role, which will include switching
the postgres user they are...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
