(Not trying to steal material; usually just want to make a temporary copy to read offline, e.g. on a plane flight.) Hello, I keep reading about "DLL hell" and how it used to make sure that the correct DLL is used, especially when installing a new program and attempting to install the DLL that comes packaged with that program. Then I read about how .NET makes DLLs easier and less error prone. I really don't know any specifics on this though. What's so good about ..NET when it comes to DLLs?

Hello all, I have written an ascending sort routine for floats. This seems to do the job, but for elements over 10,000, it gets awfully slow. A lot of useless comparisions with previously sorted elements are made. I was thinking of using a function, that kept an index, to selectively iterate over unsorted elements. But I am unable to think of a way to do it. Any ideas to improve the routine and get a better grade? Thanks to all.
