Can anyone help improve VB.NET's Wikipedia article?

Some people over on Wikipedia seem to have the idea that VB.NET is not
a major programming language:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Templat...ual_Basic_.NET

I think they're wrong. But I had to agree with what one guy said - the
general view in the geeky programming community is that VB.NET is a
poor brother to C#; some still think it's just a slightly improved
version of VB! I don't think this will improve unless their is better
information out there, where these people are.

I also had to agree that the VB.NET article there was kinda poor.
Here's the current version:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visual_Basic_.NET

I've made significant additions to the article (check the history if
you want to see how it was before), but I don't know everything about
the language. I'm guessing some of the people on this newsgroup know
more about VB.NET than I ever will, so if you get the chance, could you
go over there and make a few edits to improve things where you think
it's lacking? You don't need to sign up to change an article, just
click the Edit button and start typing. :-)

Best regards,

---

I fairly often make PDF copies of web pages or sites by copying the web page link from the web page itself and pasting it into the Acrobat 7.0 Standard "Create PDF From Web Page" command. (Not trying to steal material; usually just want to make a temporary copy to read offline, e.g. on a plane flight.) This almost always works remarkably well, but when I tried it recently with a Wikipedia article

Hello, I keep reading about "DLL hell" and how it used to make sure that the correct DLL is used, especially when installing a new program and attempting to install the DLL that comes packaged with that program. Then I read about how .NET makes DLLs easier and less error prone. I really don't know any specifics on this though. What's so good about ..NET when it comes to DLLs?

Hello all, I have written an ascending sort routine for floats. This seems to do the job, but for elements over 10,000, it gets awfully slow. A lot of useless comparisions with previously sorted elements are made. I was thinking of using a function, that kept an index, to selectively iterate over unsorted elements. But I am unable to think of a way to do it. Any ideas to improve the routine and get a better grade? Thanks to all.

I'm surprised to read this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Python_3 """Note that while there is no explicit requirement that code be able to run unmodified in both versions, in practice it is quite likely for most code. As of January 2007, it looks like most reasonable code should run quite well under either branch."""

I would value the opinion of fellow Pythoneers who have also contributed to Wikipedia, on the issue of "Is Python Standardized". Specifically in the context of this table: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_programming_languages#General_comparison (Comparison of programming languages) And this entry in the talk page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Comparison_of_programming_languages#Standardized_Python.3F (Talk:Comparison of...

If you have a browser that supports user stylesheets (like Firefox), then you can write html, body, #globalWrapper { font-size: 100% !important } into your own stylesheet (e.g. userContent.css) and read Wikipedia's pages in your *own* font size. -- In memoriam Alan J. Flavell

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
