I should like to search certain characters in a string and when they are
found, I want to replace other characters in other strings that are at
the same position (for a very simply mastermind game) for my pupils.
This very simple thing does not seem simple at all.
If I use strings, I cannot replace their parts (though I can use
string.find for the searching). I think it is a bad idea that strings are
not mutable, but I suspect that...

I have a table with a row containing numbers with 2 decimal places.
I want to count the sum of these numbers but my valuw returned is far to
high. I think the SUM string doesn't look at the decimal place.

I have been coding with ASP for some time now. I am using an ACCESS
database. I am in the UK and wish to use DD/MM/YYYY format for dates.
I have had no end of problems and possible solutions to dates such as 1/8/05
being interpreted in the wrong way.
I have been given many suggestions (setting LCID, submitting dates in long
format etc. etc.)
Is there any definitive sloution or tutorial available? This is driving me

We're developing a fairly large app with dotnet 2003 (vb). There's a few
strange problems that seem to be bugging us:
1. When running from the IDE sometimes our app will just end with no
warning, as if you had pressed the stop button. We tried putting breakpoints
in unload events but it didn't stop on these
