I'm trying to write some code that will convert any of the most popular
standard date formats twice in to something like "dd Mmm yyyy" (i.e. 08 Jan
1908) and compare the first with the second and calculate days, months, and
years. This is not for a college course. It's for my own personal
genealogy website. I'm stumped about the code. I'm working on it but not
making much progress. Is there any free code available anywhere? I know it...

I am currently working on an application that is being
used mostly in the US but recently has been purchased by
several users outside the US, mostly in South America. The
application uses an Access 2000 database for storing the
data.
The problem I am seeing is that when numbers and currency
values are entered into the application, the regional
settings of the users machine formats the numbers to use
their local settings. For example,...

Is scanf or any other function capable of reading numbers in the format
1.2345d-13 where 'd' serves the same role as 'e' usually does in scientific
notation? This operation is iterated through several times and we really
would like not to have to read it as a string first or anything like that.
Thanks

I have to write an application that deals with clients in multiple countries.
The addresses, phone numbers, country id and
currency information has to be stored into a database that allows for the
format of any country. I would like to be able to automatically display the
information in the format of their country based on the information gathered
from the Country field in the database.
Is there any white paper, or book or site that has...

Hi
I am having trouble trying to format a number string to two decimal places
if the number ends in a 0
It formats fine otherwise.
For example if PrincRepay is 78.20 it will display it as 78.2
PrincRepay, payment and IntAmt are double
PrincRepay = Math.Round(payment - IntAmt,2);
PrincRepayStr = PrincRepay.ToString("N2");

I am trying to put a FileDrop format and a Text format dataobject onto the
clipboard so that they are both available.
I seem to be able to do one or the other but when I try to put both on only
the last entry is available on the clipboard.
Dim FileDataObject As New DataObject
Dim TextDataObject As New DataObject
Dim FileNames() As String = {myFileName}
FileDataObject.SetData(DataFormats.FileDrop, FileNames)...

Dear All,
Recently I created a thread about trying to load a particular ICON image
that GDI plus could not load. I realized that GDI plus definitely does not
support it because it had a certain resolution that is not in any of its
built in format libraries. So my question is this, how would I go about
working with images that are not in GDI+ native libraries, such as raw
camera files (*.RAW, etc.), Pixar's file format, and plenty of other...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
