Problems with Show & Hide of panel in a MDI Parent form

I have a MDI parent form and the only control on it is a panel anchored to
the left hand side. I have menu items on the MDI parent that show & hide
this panel. Ideally I would like it to show by not pushing out the child
forms, but rather be overlapping them.

Alternatively I tried creating a form the same size as the panel but run
into difficulty because I would like it to have a normal window state while
the other child forms are maxmimised. In addition I tried having the form
anchored to the top left of the MDI parent frame but was unsuccessful here
as well.

Is either solution possible? Preference would be for the later, as it then
appears in my MDIList.

I suppose I am tyring to recreate how the panels in Visual Studio 2003 show
& auto hide.

Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.
regards,

Mac

Hello, I have an application in which a few mdi child forms are inside of an mdi parent. My problem arises when you minimize these forms. I want them to be hidden when minimized and not docked to the bottom of the mdi parent. I have tried using a class and keeping an array of the form objects so i could pass those objects around, but using Form.Hide or Form.Visible = False and then calling Form.Show or Form.Visible = True throws an...

Hi all, Here's my problem. I have tables that are using the menu/submenu idea for hiding rows. This works fine in IE (of course) and does show/hide correctly in netscape, but as soon as the shown method is called, the table gets skewed and the presentation of the data on the page goes horribly wrong. I don't think this is a table issue as I have spent alot of time staring at this code. Here is the html...

I am trying to hide and show certain parts of my code (which I have no problem doing with DW). In VS 2003, it won't let you use <div runat="server"to section of parts of my code in a table. This is during compilation (build). My code is: <TABLE id="Table1" style="WIDTH: 864px; HEIGHT: 177px" cellSpacing="1" cellPadding="1" width="864" border="0">

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
