I need some help getting started with a .NET web project for a
commercial site. I am new to .NET and my understanding of some (but
not all) of its concepts is a little sparse. I apologize for the
length of this message, but hopefully it will help someone here give
me the most concise and useful information, and perhaps help others
out as well. :)
It's been a while since I've had to design anything "real" for the
web. I think the last...

Hi.
I'm very new to MS Access and have been presented with an Access database
of contacts by my employer.
I am trying to redesign the main form of the database so that a button
entitled 'search' may be clicked on by the user and the user can then
search all records by postcode. I want to do this to prevent duplicate
data entry.

Hello All,
I am new to Access and have been looking for answers to my problem on
the internet and have not found it yet. I hope someone can give me a
hint. Thanks so much.
I have a form (called: myform) in which there is a combo (combo1) and a
button (button1). In properties for combo1, I use "Value List" for Row
Source Type and in Row Source : "0000-0999";"1000-1999". So when the
form first load, in the combo1, there are 2 values in...

I have a form that had a text control. When I deleted the control using the
Design surface, it was deleted but the text behind was not. Somewhere in the
code behind, I referenced the TextControl, because this line of code failed
to be removed by the designer (protected System.Web.UI.WebControls.TextBox
txtMyName"), the compiler passed! At runtime, an access violation occurred.

Many (if not most) have said that code-behind is best if working in teams -
which does seem logical.
How do you deal with the flow of the work?
I have someone who is good at designing, but know nothing about ASP. He can
build the design of the pages in HTML with tables, labels, textboxes etc.
But then I would need to change them to ASP.net objects and write the code
to make the page work (normally I do this as I go - can't do this...

DropDown lists and Listboxes do not appear in the list of controls and
values passed back to the server on PostBack in Request.Form object. Can
someone confirm this to be correct and possibly answer why ?
The impact of this is that values added via javascript will never make it
back to the server side code unless one does some jiggery pokery with hidden
fields etc. If this is true, then I would like to understand the reason
behind the...

I have 2 forms, Form1.vb and Form2.vb.
In Solution Explorer, Form2.vb no longer shows a Form icon nor do I have the
option to open Form2.vb in the main explorer window where usually I
have the design view options for any forms.
I don't get it. Why can I not get back to design view for Form2??
Thanks,
Ryan

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
