Adding Intellisense Info For Subs

How do I add information about parameters to intellisense, so developers using the subs
and functions know what they are for(the subs and the parameters).

Do a Google search for VB Commenter. VB Commenter is an add-in that
lets you create the necessary .xml file that contains the information.

I have decided to re-write the intranet site i created over a year ago. The coding is pretty awful and hard to read cos I made the mistake of not putting comments in or putting crappy comments in with the code. So I have decided to try and make things neater by grouping it into subs. So i have a sub to create the variables, a sub for the connection etc. Only problem is when i call my subs, it says that the variable is undefined. If i...

I've posted this a couple of times, no luck so far. Any info would be greatly appreciated. The tooltips are very useful, but this oddity is very annoying, particularly because I'm visually handicapped and it's very visually distracting) when a tooltip ends up taking up the entire screen... Using Intellisense, when I type a function name and the opening parenthesis, I get a tooltip that identifies the return type and arguments of the...

Hi! We have an application surveillance product with a number of API's for different languages; one of them is a C API. Now I wonder how we can supply intellisense to our Visual Studio.Net (native C/C++) users (preferably both VS 7.0 and 7.1). I would like to have something like the parameter info you get for e.g. printf when you enter the opening parenthesis, printf(

I need to create a page that lists a users Content, and allow them to add subscribers to or remove subscribers from that Content. The list may contain just one Content item, but it could just as easily contain 10 Content items. Each Content item would look something like this: --------------------------------------------- <content title 1> <content description 1>

Hello All, I am in the process of creating a 2/3 level collapsible/exspanible menu (called "nav") where users can click on a category and have the submenus appear beneath it and so on (allow users to click on another category and have that expand). Example:

It's perhaps not the end of the World, but I find it annoying that I lose IntelliSense when I reference Subs and Functions I have moved to an #Included file. Does anyone know of a reasonable way to restore the IntelliSense feature in this case? Thanks for your thoughts... Jim Rodgers

Adding comments aka QuickInfo to intellisense: On this forum I found in it's history the following thread: http://www.thescripts.com/forum/thread254408.html Someone also wanted to add comments to his methods that would show up using intellisense. In the above mentioned thread Relaxin mentions: > /// <summary> > /// Adds string to collection.

I have a project as part of a solution which contains a very large number of autogenerated class files. When compiling the solution and the autogenerated files have changed, visual studio takes an age to recreate intellisense information for the autogenerated classes. Is there any way whatsoever that I can turn off intellisense generation on a per-project or per-class manner? I had hoped that would stop the generation of intellisense info...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
