new year;stupid question?

First a happy new year and best wishes to everyone here, I know I'm a bit
late but I've been on a 2 week christmas holiday :-)

but now the question, when I got back at work (today) I noticed that our
msdn files have been moved, first they were stored localy on our development
machines but during the christmas holiday our pc's had an update and they
moved the msdn files to a server share, so now my question is how can I tell
my vs2003 to use the files on the server share and not search for the files
on my local pc.

Hi,

In the vs.net options-> environment -> Projects and solutions you
can change the visual studio default project location.

The only reference to MSDN that I can find in VS is:

Tools --> Options --> Environment --> Web Browser

which, on my system, are set to use default: http://msdn.microsoft.com.

Hi I also got that set to msdn.microsoft. com, the error which I get when I
try to start the help is:
"help is not available for VS .net because msdn library, which provides help
for VS, is not installed."

this error makes sense because it ain't installed on my local pc because the
guy who performed the update on my pc installed msdn on the share because he
didn't want to install the msdn library 7 times

I heard that beta 2 now makes ASP.NET xhtml compliant. Can anyone shed some light on what this will change and it will break stuff as converting HTML to XHTML pages DO break things. see, http://www.alistapart.com/articles/betterliving/ I read on http://msdn.microsoft.com/netframework/default.aspx?pull=/library/en-us/dnnetdep/html/netfxcompat.asp It said they changed stuff like this

Don't try to solve the problem. I've found a way -- around or fixing it. I'm just curious as to whether this is Microsoft's problem in their compiler or if there's a standard saying this is to be true (not necessarily an internal compiler error, but still an error) This may just a bit OT, but I decided to post it here instead of Microsoft because my question is more directed towards standards... Of course, any other day I would have...

As per Google's Usenet archives http://groups.google.com/googlegroups/archive_announce_20.html], the first discussion of the Y2K problem on the Usenet was on January 18 1985 http://groups.google.com/groups?threadm=820%40reed.UUCP]. That is a good 15 years before the problem manifested. Even then, it turned out, we were scrambling for cover when the D-day was approaching. Although the Y2K scare turned out to be vastly overblown, we do...

What's the easiest way (without setting up a style sheet) to set the font for an area of text. I need to be able to specify the exact font and font size - not the 1-7 numbers IE uses. I want to be able to set some text to be Font=Arial, Size=12pt. TIA - Jeffrey.
