Hi All,

I want to create a program in Visual Basic .NET. But I want to run that
program in a particualr (Unique) PC. If that program is copied into any
other PC it should stop running and should warn the user that it is not
designed to run on the other PC. How can I do this. How can we maintain the
uniqueness of any PC.

Here we the number of PCs in which it should be run are limited and if we
need any information regarding hardware or software we can get every
information. We can scan the computer in which the program should run before
installing or making the program. It is not like "some user will install
that program in some computer". We exactly know everything regarding the
other PC.

Using which unique options or info of a PC, we can create this program.

Please Help Me.

With Regards,
Vanga Sasidhar.

Alot of people use the MAC address of the NIC card to get a unique value.

Otherwise there is the machine name too.

Or perhaps you could generate a checksum based on a set of information
retreived via WMI?

Hi, I struggled, and got mod_python running on Apache/Win2k. Follow these instructions verbatim and you shouldn't have any trouble. These instructions are based on "http://www.modpython.org/live/current/doc-html/inst-testing.html". I've added specific information such as Windows filepaths and filenames so there's no ambiguity on what you should do. I encourage you to copy and paste to avoid typing errors. Cheers, Rolfe

I am getting this error when I try to run a program in my cgi-bin directory (don't know what I'm still missing to make it work): *** Authentication required! This server could not verify that you are authorized to access the URL "/~group3/cgi-bin/ack.cgi". You either supplied the wrong credentials (e.g., bad password), or your browser doesn't understand how to supply the credentials required.

Hello all, This is my first time posting a question to this forum, so here is hoping I am following protocol. I am scraping the rust off my old Basic programming skills, and have just recently upgraded to VB.NET, and I have a lot of catching up to do. That being said, I have come a long way in a short while, however, I am stumped at the moment. I have read through days of posts, but have not been able to address my specific question, so...

Suppose I have a program that prompts you with a dialogbox to enter a password. If you get the password correct, it allows you into the program, else it kills the program. Suppose that when I am in Visual Studio, running the program in debug mode, i want to bypass the password prompt because if i am the developer, i am definately allowed to use the program. I assumed that I could use the this.DesignMode property while in my main...

Hi All, I am using C++Builder V5.0 to run my C programs. I am not an expert in C. Normally, I run the C program with these steps: 'Compile', 'Make Project', 'Build Project' and then 'Run'. Many a times, I have a stack overflow error due to huge amount of data processing involved, and for this, I go to Options--Linker and increase the MaxStackSize, which sorts out the problem. All of a sudden, I have started to get trouble with one of...

Hi everyone: I have a spider that is relatively long running (somewhere between 12-24 hours). My problem is that I keep having an issue where the program appears to freeze. Once this freezing happens the activity of the program drops to zero. No exception is thrown or caught. The program simply stops doing anything. It even stops printing out its activity to stdout. The program itself appears to run in about 14 megs of memory. ...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies.
