Hi,
I import data every evening through a scheduled task from a text file.
Once the data is imported, an email is sent to a user saying how much
data etc.. was in the file.
In case the file has not been updated each day, i would like to
include in the email the date and time the file was last updated. Is
there some way to get this using vb.net from a text file i.e. to tell
when the file was last saved.
Thanks for all help. 4 2440

hi,
to convert excel files via csv to xml or whatever I frequently use the
csv module which is really nice for quick scripts. problem are of course
non ascii characters like german umlauts, EURO currency symbol etc.
the current csv module cannot handle unicode the docs say, is there any
workaround or is unicode support planned for the near future? in most
cases support for characters in iso-8859-1(5) would be ok for my
purposes but of...

Hi Gang,
I've created a text-based file format. Once I've generated the text to save
the file is as it should be in the debug window. However once I write it to
a file a " is added to the beginning and a ", to the end. Can somebody
explain why? I'm using VB2003.
Thanks in advance for any help,

I have a simple html document I have been using for some time on my
(i.e.) abc.com domain that uses cookies. I recently purchased a new
domain name and set up a service to redirect my new domain (i.e.)
xyz.com to a sub-directory of the abc.com domain. In other words, when
someone goes to URL xyz.com, they really end up in abc.com/xyz
directory but the MSIE browser says they are xyz.com.
The problem is that cookies quit working in this...

Hi all,
Here's the situation. We are sending out a survey and tracking who we send it to. The automated system that sends the survey generates a text file called "surveydd mmm yyyy.txt" every time a survey is sent (with the date being the date the survey is sent).
I have created a macro in Access that imports this kind of text file and I have saved the specifications. That all works perfectly.
What I need help with is the code...

With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
