I bought/installed the upgrade to Visual Studio .Net
Professional 2003 (from 2002). I was surprised that it
did not appear to uninstall (or overlay) my old version
(2002) of Visual Studio .Net Professional. There are two
sets of Framework and Visual Studio on both the "conrol
panel/program add-remove" and two sets of menu's off
the "start/programs". I'd just uninstall the old (as the
new has "2003" off of everything) ... but it just...

We've had a very large A97 app running fine for the last seven years.
I've just converted to SQL Server backend, which is being tested, but
meanwhile the JET based version, running under terminal server, has
suddenly started running very slowly. The network engineer has thrown
up his hands and said "It's Access 97". I've checked out lots of
things including the Oplocks setting and other stuff from this NG, and
I think I've done everything...

I am preparing to upgrade a VS.NET ASP.NET project from version 1 to version
1.1.
1. Is it as simple as opening the project in VS.NET 2003?
2. Are there any issues to be aware of aside from not being able to open it
in VS.NET 2002 after the upgrade?
Thanks in advance!

I recently upgraded my server to Windows 2003. The first thing I noticed is
that my sample WebService pages no longer worked. The Invoke test button is
missing. This is addresed by the following KB article:
Microsoft Knowledge Base Article - 819267
INFO: HTTP GET and HTTP POST Are Disabled by Default

The article advises that a new block be inserted into Web.config (or into

Hi.
When I started using VS.NET 2003 there was no problem upgrading all my
projects to VS.NET 2003 Framework 1.1. Everything worked as it used to
under framework 1.0. Is it easy to upgrade from framework 1.1 to VS.NET
2005 Framework 2.0? Will everyting work as it used to, or do I have to
re-write some of my code?
Thanks

I want to upgrade .Net framework version to 1.1. If I upgrade will I have
issues with the already deployed webservices?
Do I need redeploy them?
And also do I need to upgrade the Visual studio also?
Thanks

I'm using VS.NET 2003 with Framework 1.1. I want to upgrade to VS.NET
2005 and Framework 2.0. I'd like to hear comments from people that
have moved to the new platform with final releases of VS.NET and the
framework. I'm interested in any installation and code migration
issues you may have had.
Thanks,
Brett

I am working on a project "ABC" which needs to be upgraded from .NET
framework 1.1.
We are thinking about upgrading it to .NET framework 2.0. The reason
for this is that we have some unmanaged modules (made in VC++) shared
with other project "XYZ". The project "XYZ" is upgraded to .NET
framework 2.0 from .NET framework 1.1.
Now to have the compatibility, forcibly project ABC also have decided
to upgrade to .NET 2.0. But I feel why not...

If I understand correctly, the framework version and Visual Studio version
are not intertwined?
Assuming so, how do I (first) find out what framweork my VS2005 ASP.NET
application is targeting (think its 2.0 currently)?
Then, how do I "make it" use the 3.5 Framework?
I know if I opened the project using VS2008, it would prompt me to upgrade,
but I need to do this from VS2005.

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
