I bought/installed the upgrade to Visual Studio .Net
Professional 2003 (from 2002). I was surprised that it
did not appear to uninstall (or overlay) my old version
(2002) of Visual Studio .Net Professional. There are two
sets of Framework and Visual Studio on both the "conrol
panel/program add-remove" and two sets of menu's off
the "start/programs". I'd just uninstall the old (as the
new has "2003" off of everything) ... but it just...

I've been tasked with upgrading the JVM from
1.3 to 1.4, and the third party libraries used
by my company on our existing Java framework.
I'm most worried about any problems that may occur
due to upgrading Xalan and Xerces as our framework
performs much XML transformation and processing.
Does anyone have a link to known issues with such
an upgrade (besides the Xalan / Xerces sites) ?

I recently upgraded my server to Windows 2003. The first thing I noticed is
that my sample WebService pages no longer worked. The Invoke test button is
missing. This is addresed by the following KB article:
Microsoft Knowledge Base Article - 819267
INFO: HTTP GET and HTTP POST Are Disabled by Default

The article advises that a new block be inserted into Web.config (or into

Hi!
I have this medium sized solution with a couple of projects and stuff.
The generated application has an <appname>.exe.manifest file to enable
XP themes. In the main window of the application I have several group
boxes, and even some group boxes within other group boxes.
FlatStyle=System on these group boxes has always worked just fine.
Round corners on the borders and blue caption text (standard
Luna/Silver theme).

I have been hosting ASP.Net in my app for some time, with no problems, with
framework 1.1 (VS 2003). Having just upgraded to 2.0 (VS 2005), and it now
gives this error:
HttpException (0x80004005): The path '/MyApp/App_GlobalResources/' maps to a
directory outside this application, which is not supported.
The ApplicationBase for my app is "/MyApp" so the statement in the error
message would appear to be incorrect. I have no explicit...

Hi
I've searched quite a bit and haven't been able to find an answer to
this one:
We're in the process of installing .Net 2.0 on our production servers
(all Windows 2000 servers). None of the applications on the servers
use .Net 2.0 yet: all are on 1.1.
As soon as we install .Net 2.0, we start getting problems with our

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
