I think that you should show "some" code to get help, there are millions of
ways you could have done this.
And please copy it first in a notebook and than back in the message
otherwise it is mostly unreadable.

Are you showing the form as MDI child?

to make eazy to understand
1. create mdi container form
|
| in the mdi container
|
2. add Panel (set dock to fill) this will make panel fill up the whole
mdi container
|
| in panel
|
3. add tabcontrol (set dock to fill) it will fillup the whole panel
from menu :
Private Sub ReplaceToolStri pMenuItem_Click (ByVal sender As System.Object,
ByVal e As System.EventArg s) Handles ReplaceToolStri pMenuItem.Click
Dim m_oReplace As New findreplace(loc _openDocList, TabControl1)
m_oReplace.MdiP arent = Me
m_oReplace.Show
(no error , but the form not showing out , I even try to set top most on the
child form but no use)

Cc,
What is this code
Dim m_oReplace As New findreplace(loc _openDocList, TabControl1)
It says for me something as: instance a new form what has in the constructor
a whatever and a reference to a Tabcontrol which belongs to the MdiParent.
As well it is not impossible that your panel covers your MDIClient when that
is created on the MDIparent form in the sample you showed.
However it looks strange what you are doing..

I'm trying to write a program in vb.net to automate filling out a
series of forms on a website. There are three forms I need to
fill out in sequence. The first one is urlencoded. My program is
able to fill that one out just fine.
The second form is multipart/form-data. Unfortunately, I haven't
been able to fill that out in a way that makes the server happy.
I set up a copy of this form at my web site so that I could see
exactly what a...

Before I get started with the question, does anyone have a (single)
good book recommendation for database design? Not an Access-specific
book, but something geared toward helping me figure out *what the user
wants*. I've had brief formal education about data flow diagramming,
but I'm looking for ... more, now that I'm actually running into
problems I think stem from the fact that my users can't explain what
they need done, compounded by...

I have a form which calls up a second form for purposes of data entry.
When closing the data entry form and returning to the main form, things
don't work as expected.
When I return to the main form, I trigger the on acitvate event to run
a macro. I can use the Dlookup function to update my fields, which is
OK. However, I intitially tried to use the Repaint Object command to
repaint the form. That did not work. Though I solved the...

In VB 5 I could have a form named frmTest and open it with
frmTest.Show
Now in VB.net I have to
Dim frm as New frmTest
frm.show
The problem is I only want one instance of frmTest open, not a new one each
time.
Is there a way to prevent this, or test for the form being open already?

Hi,
I have a form for uploading documents and inserting the data into a mysql
db. I would like to validate the form. I have tried a couple of Javascript
form validation functions, but it appears that the data goes straight to the
processing page, rather than the javascript seeing if data is missing and
popping up an alert. I thought it may be because much of the form is
populated with data from the db (lists, etc.), but when I leave...

Hello guys,
now that I'm that I'm working on my first major 'open' forms (with
uncontrolled users I mean, not a secure backend-interface), I'd like to add
a lot of possibilities to check wether certain fields match certain
criteria, and inform the user in different ways when the data is wrong
(offcourse, this will be checked on posting the data again, but that's
something I've got a lot of experience with).
Now, offcourse it's...

Hi -
I have been struggling with solution ideas for this now for almost 2
weeks, and have not been able to figure this out.
I have a user who creates a Purchase Order (tblPOData). In some
circumstances, this or another user must create an invoice to go with
the PO (I know - that makes no sense, but this is the business
case).
I have the user go to a form to create the invoice:

I have public methods in a form. The main form calls them, to update
that form's display. This form is like a real-time view of data that
is changing.
But, the form may not exist (it is created / destroyed at user
request). I can check form != null to prevent incorrect access.
But, the form could disappear immediately after the check, before the
method is run. Or someone could click 'close' when it's in the middle
of an update. ...

I'm completely new to using background threading, though I have
downloaded and run through several samples and understood how they
worked.
My question is:
I have an app whose primary form will almost always lead to the user
opening a certain child window that's fairly resource intensive to
load. Is it possible to load this form in a backgroundworker and then
use the Show method and hide method as necessary? Anyone know of

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
