I use the the calendar in VB.NET and then the days are displayed in Dutch.
When I run in IE5 , days are in English.
I changed the preferred language in IE, no change.
I do not understand why VB.NET shows the days in the calendar control in
dutch anyway. I set the language option in VB.NET
(Tools/Options/InternationalSe ttings to Same as MS Office. which is English
in my case.
Appreciate any advice where to look for the logic to get this right, i.e. my
development environment in english and. for execution the IE users settings
for the language. Tks.

Eric,
It is so simple, the calandar is (when not overruled with environment
settings in your prorgram) not the language settings of VBNet that is just
the IDE. The globalization is taken from the settings of the used computer,
so when you use as a server an English OS (what is often done in Holland
because of documentation and updates) it will when that is not overruled (in
a lot of ways) use the US notation what is standard in that.
I hope this gives an idea?

Dear Sir/Madam
We are going to do the Localization/Globalisation for our product which has
nearly got 284 forms using satellite Assemblies.
I have got 2 questions
1. How to handle Substrings.
2.What issues can you think could come across during
Globalization/Localisation.
3. How to develop an utility(can anybody share the code) which will display

Hello,
I have never implemented Globalization and Localization before, but I am
trying to plan for it before starting to implement it in new application.
From what I am finding is that there are a lot of considerations that could
save time if planned up front, so anyone found or knows of good resource(s)
to look at to save the pain of figuring it out the hard way? Books,
whitepapers, samples, or articles.
Thanks

Hi there,
can anyone help me with this one.... i have a page which is in normal
english format, but when i wanna change it to Russian format text, i set the
Culture code, but it still remains the same. Does this mean that every bit
of text i need to convert every label on my screens in order for them to
show or is there an easier way to this?
thanks for anybody's help.

Hello sirs,
In my business layer classes I need to throw exceptions with error
messages that will be caught by the web pages and shown to the user.
Is there any way to enable globalization/localization for these
messages with ASP.NET 2.0? Or the built-in mechanism only works for
resources in the web pages?
Thanks.

Hi All
Is there any easy way to validate if my current code base fully support
Localization + Globalization?
1. Any tool to scan all my code base files (aspx. cs,...) and identify
if there are any hard-coded messages, which needs to be localized
2. The Text/Value property for ASP UI Controls are read from Resource
file rather than hard-coded

Hi,
Could anyone provide any suggestions on how to implement localization features for a multilingual website. Before you jump the guns, let me define the site structure a little more. We have a global site and around 40 country sites. Each of these country sites have localised information both in the native language (fr,de,de-at,it,ar,ar-ae etc). Also, each of these local country sites would have an english counterpart (fr-en,de-en etc)....

Hi everyone

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
