PP: Testing Localization + Globalization

Hi All

Is there any easy way to validate if my current code base fully support
Localization + Globalization?

1. Any tool to scan all my code base files (aspx. cs,...) and identify
if there are any hard-coded messages, which needs to be localized

2. The Text/Value property for ASP UI Controls are read from Resource
file rather than hard-coded

3. Each of the Resx/Resource file(s) have all the items that needs to
be localized

4. Anything else that I have not thought of

Thanks
PP

Dear Sir/Madam We are going to do the Localization/Globalisation for our product which has nearly got 284 forms using satellite Assemblies. I have got 2 questions 1. How to handle Substrings. 2.What issues can you think could come across during Globalization/Localisation. 3. How to develop an utility(can anybody share the code) which will display the only the text values from the resource files and allow to enter new

Hello, I have never implemented Globalization and Localization before, but I am trying to plan for it before starting to implement it in new application. From what I am finding is that there are a lot of considerations that could save time if planned up front, so anyone found or knows of good resource(s) to look at to save the pain of figuring it out the hard way? Books, whitepapers, samples, or articles. Thanks

I encounter a problem with Localization features in ASP.NET 2.0. Is seems that the framework is not able to manage neutral cultures such as 'fr', or 'de'. Those are the culture sent by default from a french or German Internet Explorer in France or Germany. There is a runtime error "System.NotSupportedException: Culture "fr" is a neutral culture. It can not be used in formatting and parsing and therefore cannot be set as the thread's...

Hello, I am trying to localize an existing application (asp.net 2.0). using implicit as well as explicit localization. Asp.net 2.0 uses App_LocalResources folder for implicit localization. When this happens the tag values for Text, ToolTip etc. are not used from the aspx file but read from the resource files. The problem is that most developers works on the aspx files to make and view changes.

Hello sirs, In my business layer classes I need to throw exceptions with error messages that will be caught by the web pages and shown to the user. Is there any way to enable globalization/localization for these messages with ASP.NET 2.0? Or the built-in mechanism only works for resources in the web pages? Thanks.

I have a VB.NET 2005 application with several forms and a couple hundred "strings." I've been looking into all the localization improvements in VB.NET, and I can't seem to find anything that does what I'm looking for. My application has all the strings hard-coded, I wasn't planning on localizing it when I first built it. But that's OK, I am perfectly willing to re-create a resource file for en_US with the required data.

Hi everyone I want to implement localization and globalization in my web application. my requirement is i wan t my page contents should be changed dynamically according to the selected culture. Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
