I am working on a special ASP.Net application that receives files from
customers. The connection is made via HTTPS and the client sends the file
as a POST to my ASP.Net listener. All of this works fine. Now I am looking
at how to validate the clients certificate programmatically. The client
application sends to me with something like:
....
Dim myHttp As HttpWebRequest =
CType(WebRequest.Create(https://myserver/Receive.aspx),...

Hello,
I am trying to create a certificate for our internet for our employees so
that they can login to system from home. Do I have to go, for example,
VeriSign to get a certificate? Can I create my own certificate and use it
since it is not actually a public web site?
Thanks,

Hi,
I am trying to use smartcard to logon to pc. I am modifying a gina.dll.
The question is - is there anyone with the smartcard logon experience who can guide me through the process?
I know the workings and interactions of gina and winlogon. programming help from your side would be a big help.
How do you create a DisplaySASNotice() function for smartcard logon for starters? Thanks

Hi everyone.
I've already read a lot about accessing SmartCard via C#, but they all
don't really fit, what I'm trying to do.
I'm experimenting with SLE 4442 Smartcards and I want to directly
(without any CTAPI or PC/SC) access the card. It should be possible,
shouldn't it?
What I'm doing:
I'm opening the serial port with the serialPort Element of .NET2.0.

Hi all,
I'm developing a control or a kind of activex to run on the IExplorer. What
I want is to read a file or a smartcard in the client side. When I run the
control on a normal .exe application it works fine.
However when use the IExplorer and access it from the web I get an
exception System.Security.Permissions.SecurityPermission.
How can I avoid that? Any hints or webpage to get help.

Hi All,
Thank you in advance. I have a windows CE 4.2 device. I need to be able
to insert a smartcard into the reader, prompt the user for a PIN and
validate that PIN against what is on the card. Is this something that
can be done in VB.net or C#. I have read many documents stating the CF
supports smartcards but I can't find any examples that do what I am
looking for. I have tried to use the X509Certificates but I can't seem
to specify...

I am trying to get the SmartCard services to work on Windows PE 2005. I can
get the service installed by issuing a "scardsvr.exe install" from a command
prompt & the service looks like it starts up, but the Smart Card Resource
Manager doesnt want to work. I did some research on this and the service
must run as "NT AUTHORITY\LocalService" account but when i change to this,
the service wont start up.
Any tnoughts or assistance would be...

I have a prox card reader and just got it installed. Upon the advice of the
company I downloaded the SmartCard API from Subsemly. It will see the card,
but it doesn't give very good examples of reading a card. Does anyone know
of any VB.NET code using this?

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
