Hi, I am trying to create a python script to install a set of network
printers. I have had success using an os.popen statement, using
rundll32 and printui.dll. This takes way too long. Can someone point
me in a quicker direction?
thanks,
Matt

Hi
I explain my title: i'm actually developping an application for privilege-limited users.
They all have a laptop, and are not local administrators of the machine
I 'm developping a program that allows them to create profiles with IP, Proxy, Network Drives and printers
For drives and printers, they can supply a username/password so they can connect to file servers/printers without having to change the local user... (or do a RunAs, but...

Hi,
I have to create a application which will install a printer.
I have list of printers, and the machine where the printer is connected.
Just to hide the info about the network I want to give him a exe which he
can install and that will install a printer for him. Basically the user
should not use "Add Hardware Wizard"
I have no clue about how hardware instillation works. Please let me know
where I can get more info about this.
Regards...

Hi all
Is there an easy way to install a network printer by code in Vb.Net (Meaning
connecting to a printer from a server for eg \\MyServer\MyPrinter, so no
drivers are required or anything like that). In vb6 i used Wsh to install
it, should i continue using the same method or does .NET have a better way
of doing it ?
Thanks

If a user navigates to the printers on a domain controller, they can
double click on the Printer Icon and it will install the printer on
their machine. That's great as long as the user knows what server the
printer server is. I have imbed a floor map on a page and I'd like to
put hyperlinks to the appropriate printer on the Print Server. This
way as long as a user can get to my site, they can map their own
printers without having to get...

Can anyone give me some guidance on installing a local printer with VB 2005?
I'm guessing I would probably do this with WMI, but i'm not finding anything
obvious. I see how to add a networked printer, but nothing to add a local
printer, assign it a port & driver.

If I try to re-install any printer I get an error message saying "operation could not be completed"
Does anyone know whats caused this and of any way of fixing this without having to re-load windows again ?
Thanks

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
