I'm having problems coming up with a regular expression that works for what
I want. I need to extract a few numbers from from html. Here's a snippet:
<tr><td align="right">Consolidated Metro Area (CMSA)</td><td
align="left"><strong> SEATTLE-TACOMA-BREMERTON, WA
( 7602 )</td></tr>
<tr><td align="right">Primary Metro Area (PMSA)</td><td
align="left"><strong>SEATTLE-BELLEVUE-EVERETT, WA

here's a brain teaser for someone with more skills or at least more
lateral thinking capability than me - done my nut over this one...
have written a list manager in PHP which
a) posts out new web bulletin board messages to registered users.
b) recieves emails and posts them to the bulletin board if they have the
right variables in the subject line
The subject line is created by the script and contains the group ID, the
bulletin board...

I have been racking my brain trying to figure out a regular expression that will replace all of the characters in a string except the very first character from uppercase to lower case. Any ideas. I was thinking something like: $'{1} to return everything but the first character, but the rest is out of my league
Thanks in advance
Jim

I can't seem to get right the regular expression for parsing data like
these four sample rows (names and addresses changed to ficticious values)
from a text-type column:
Yolanda Harris, 38, of 40 South Main St., Newtown City, was charged
Sunday with breach of peace and interfering with a police officer.
Allen K. George, 30, of 88 Beverly Court was charged Saturday with
possession of marijuana, third-degree criminal mischief, breach of...

Here's a little brain teaser distilled from a bug that took me a rather
long time to figure out. The two functions in the example below behave
differently. The difference is easy to spot, of ocurse. The challenge
is correctly explaining why this is so. Why does the second function
seemingly corrupt the cloned copy of an object?
Sample code:
<?php

Hi everyone
I am using a ereg_replace to strip all but certain allowed characters
from a string:
$string = ereg_replace("()","",$string);
I would like to extend this to allow HTML character references of the
form "&#number;" where number is the three or four digit code number
of the character. Examples would be "ä" and "ẽ".

Hi,
I can't figure out what the regular expression would look like for
validating a string such as :
Lastname, Firstname
I could only come up with /\w/ which doesn't check for the comma.
Can someone help ?

una '
re.findall('*((?:*+*)+\s**\s*(?:
*+*\s*)*)(*)$', text)

You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
