I've got this javascript routine (i found on google - thank you) in an
asp.net page that on page reload sets the cursor of a textbox to the
last line. It works great!
Using a similar concept, I have another application that uses a
textbox like an editor window and has a save and other buttons.
Problem is - when I save/post/reload, the textbox returns to cursor
the top again.
How can I preserve / save the exact cursor spot and return...

I want to programmatically set the position of a cursor in a textbox
that has focus based on a X and Y value.
However, when I send a WM_RBUTTONDOWN and a WM_RBUTTONUP message to the
textbox it selects the text from where the cursor is to where I want
the cursor to be. All I want is to move the position of the cursor
based on a X and Y values, not select the text.
The code to recreate the issue.

How is it possible to designate a textbox so that when the .aspx page is
displayed the cursor is already there so the user can just start typing
instead of having to click in the textbox with the mouse first?
thanks,

For a string that is being edited in a textbox, is there a way to find
the position of the edit cursor in the string being edited? For
example, it would be 0 or 1 at the beginning of a string and go up by
one each time the right arrow key was pressed.
Thanks Much,
Gene in NC

Hi,
For my application I need the following behavior: When I press F4 the cursor
has to move to the next line in my multiline textbox which begins with "0".
Finding lines starting with 0 isn't that difficult, but to find the next
line is more difficult. For exemple: if my cursor is on line 200, it has to
start searching on line 201, and not on line 1.
Anybody has any ideas?

I have a .Net TextBox (TextBoxBase, really) in which I am appending about 20
lines of text per second. I use the AppendText() method to accomplish this.
This is a great substitute for taking the Text property and concatenating
it...
Me.tb.Text &= newText
' Instead use
Me.tb.AppendText(newText)
....ultimately setting the SelectionStart to the end of TextBox, the

Does anyone know of an easy way to set the position of the cursor in a
TextBox? If I set text in the box that is longer than the length of the
TextBox the position of the cursor is at the very end of the line and a
user would have to use the arrow keys to move it back to the beginning
of the line of text. I'd prefer to set the cursor position automatically
to just before the first character of the text.
thanks

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...
