Getting Devmode to see printer's orientation is not acurate

I use Devmode and SetPrinter to set the default printer to landscape.
I check using the Windows XP "Printers and Faxes" menu item.
The printer driver reports landscape.

I then use DocumentPropert ies to retrieve a DevMode for the printer and it
always shows portrait.
A second printer on the system reports landscape in a similar situation.

Any ideas why the first printer always reports portrait? Well, not always -
when "Printers and Faxes" checked it somehow learns that it is set to
landscape.

I am trying to find and then set printer driver specific features such as staple or mail box. Some of the features I need to get / set are not members of the standard DEVMODE. I need to be able to set any printer feature without user intervention, therefore I can't use any dialogues. I may not know ahead of time what all the printer settings will be so need to be able to list and set all. I have had no luck finding any Visual Basic .Net...

I have been experimenting with the new Printer object in Access 2002 and discovered some unexpected database bloat. Simply assigning the same value to a property of a report's Printer object will cause the database to grow. Here's my test code: Public Sub ChangeReportSettings( _ sReport As String, _ sDeviceName As String, _ Optional nIterations As Long = 1)

Hi, I've been trying in vain to get the number of copies a user wants to print after they've closed the PrintDialog form. Apparantly this value is sometimes found in the DEVMODE struct for the particular printDialog's document's printerSettings. I've followed some of the other posts on this topic and I can get the struct and the printer name seems to be correct, but everything else is garbage. Any idea what might be going wrong? I'm...

I need to within code control some printer settings before raising the print dialog... I need to set some properties for the printer such as "The Printer to Print too", Page settings such as paper type (according to the list associated with the printer driver itself) and orientation... It would be nice to programmically control the printer, paper settings and orientation all together to avoid the print dialog and the potential for the user to...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
