A current requirement I am facing is the all business objects be stateless
remote components hosted in IIS. I am partial to web services myself.
However, it is insisted that IIS hosted remoting be used. They insist that
it is much, much faster. I don’t necessarily disagree with that point. But
under the circumstances, a web service that is load balanced (as are the
remote objects), though technically slower, would still have a lot of...

I have a service that was developed in C# that I wish to debug. The
project resides on my desktop system and I wish it to execute on a
remote test system (actually on the next desk).
When I confifure the project for remote debugging of the project I get
the following alert: "Error while trying to run project: Unable to start
debugging. Access is denied."
This worked fine in the past when the test machine was Windows 2000, but
now that...

I have a VB.Net application that runs as a Windows Service and
monitors a MessageQueue on another machine. At times that machine
will have to be rebooted, so I've been working on how to get my
Service to re-establish the connection after the remote machine is
back.
I found that as soon as the remote machine goes down, the
BeginReceive() method and the ReceiveCompleted() event handler start
throwing an exception, for QueueNotAvailable,...

Hi,
I have a webservice application(asp.net 2.0) running on IIS 6.0 ... win
2003.
I can call the webservice from the local machine,
but if I call the web service from a different machine, the error "The page
cannot be found" appears.
Searching on the internet, I came across a link that suggested that, this is
because.... on IIS "web service extentions" are not enabled by default...

Hi All,
Looking for a bit of help here. I have a VB.NET application that runs
as a service on a W2003 Server, well that sometimes runs as a service.
If I start the service while connected to the server via remote
desktop, the service starts successfully and all is hunky dory.
However, if I logon directly to the server as the same user, I get the

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
