Hi,
I am writing some VB.NET code that compiles to a dll. There is some
code within it that manipulates Powerpoint 2003.
The dll I am writing is for smart tags, and I am having trouble because
sometimes Powerpoint is remaining running (powerpnt.exe in Task
Manager). One action of my smart tags calls InsertChart (code below).
The designated line causes powerpoint to remain running even after the
user has manually closed the...

I have a client with a VB6 application that uses the OLE Control
to display PowerPoint slides. The PowerPoint slides are saved
in a column in the database (Oracle). The problem is that the
OLE Control seems to be putting a wrapper around the PowerPoint
file so what is actually saved to the database is not just a
PowerPoint file, but a PowerPoint file and the OLE wrappers.
I am going to convert this application to .NET. I know I could...

Hi there,
I am currently working on a project to display powerpoint presentations
inside a .NET application. As I understand there is no such thing as a
ole control which can embed powerpoint files.
After searching the web I found a usable way by using a web browser
control to display powerpoint documents. However, this only works if
powerpoint is also installed. I tried it with the freely available
powerpoint viewer, but with this...

I want to write a screensaver that plays powerpoint presentations.
So I have a form with a webbrowser control.
Is there any way to get the containing form to know when the user has
moved the mouse if the user moves the mouse over the webbrowser
control?
At the moment I have the webbrowser control only 90% of the full screen
size (the containing form is full screen size), and the screensaver
terminates when the mouse is moved into the...

1) Is it possible to create a powerpoint file with asp.net? I've
Googled it and can't seem to find a definitive guide.
2) If it is possible to create a powerpoint file with asp.net, is it
possible to pull exisiting slides together in a certain order rather
than creating the slides from scratch?
Thanks,

Hi all,
This is my first time trying to creaet and use a custome Web Control in a
Web Site project in ASP.NET 2.0 with VS 2005 and VB. I created the control
in a separate Web Control Library project. The original code for that
control was written in VS 2003 for .NET 1.1.
I created a Web Project and pulled the VB module into the project. I
compared the syntax to the VB template classs that was built and it looked
very similar. I then...

Hello,
Just wondering if anyone can advise. I am trying to remotely control Powerpoint using a microprocessor. I am using RS232 (COM1). The idea is that the microprocessor sends ASCII strings to the PC and Powerpoint changes to the corresponding slide. For example:
01n - Go to slide 1
05n - Go to slide 5
02n - Go to slide 2, etc
I have managed to get a VBscript macro going in Powerpoint. Once the show begins I click a button to...

Howdy!
I the good old days of VB6 I could create an ActiveX control and drop it into PowerPoint or any other Office application and use it. I have developed a webservice based application that I would like to create a control that accepts a few parameters and then calls my webservice, and then displays the results. I specifically want to do this in in PowerPoint. Any advice on how to do this these days?
Thanks!

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
