we can download the Management Studio Express for free from MS website.
I did the same thing on my personal laptop. But can we develop
applications using free downloaded Management Studio and deploy later
on with the free stuff at work?
Or else may i want to get it off Sql server 2005 that we got when we
bought the software.

I'm having a system using Access 2000 as both front-end (queries,
forms, reports & temp tables for reports) & back-end (data) with
back-end running on the server. The application runs on the network
with around 15 users.
The back-end database is suffering from performance issues. There were
several corruptions since few months & one major corruption & corrupted
the MSysObjects table. Also, the system will run batch process that

hi,
I have a project about to finish. It is asp.net 2.0 project using sql
server experss database. Now, I am trying to find some webhost
provider for it. I saw some saying asp.net 2.0 support. Is this all I
need, or there is some other stuff in order to make the sql server
express database supported?
Thanks.

I have read all of the posts regarding this subject as well as 3
"Dummies" guides and I keep having the same problems. I have a very
simple multi-user application that has to hit a database. We
cuerrently have this system deployed and it is working fine on a
domain based network. We are scaling back and the network we will be
using is now a workgroup not a domain.
It should be simple. I have XP boxes (clients) trying to hit the SQL...

Hi there,
We have recently deployed a couple of new SQL 2005 x64 servers in our
hosting environment. We have previously used SQL 2000.
I need to start rolling out the new client tools so our developers can
start working on them. I tried to copy the sql tools msi off the
installation CD and install it on the developers machine but it will
not install on them as the workstations are 32bit and the server is
x64.

Hi. I am managing a SQL server that is running SQL 2005. I really
like the management studio that comes with the full version because I
can view tables and easily create relationships and queries. Is this
same level of control available with the SQL 2008 express edition? I
want to get familiar with the tools and the syntax on my laptop but I
don't want to install a full version.
Thanks!

Hello,
last week we installed a SQL Server 2008 R2 Express edition on a production machine (OS = Win XP with 2Gb ram & Core2Duo CPU)
It's running very very slow. A sample query is taking about 1m30seconds to complete, allthough on my laptop it only takes 2 seconds with the same version of SQL Server and the same database (copy of the production database)
Any thoughts, this is really driving me nuts??
What I allready did:
- update...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
