I was playing around with the new SQL 2005 CLR functionality and remembered this discussion that I had with Erland Sommarskog concerning performance of scalar UDFs some time ago (See "Calling sp_oa* in function" in this newsgroup). In that discussion, Erland made the following comment about UDFs in SQL 2005: >>The good news is that in SQL...

Hi, Recenly I lost the source code for all my stored procedures, triggers etc. I only had them encrypted in the database. Existing dsqlsrvd tool did not work. So I wrote a tool to recover the source code for encrypted objects for SQL Server 2005. This saved me a lot of time. Just in case if someone interested in such tool here is the link :...

Ok this should be a simple question but it's seemingly difficult (or something's wrong w/ my SQL Server Managmenet Sudio). I have created new triggers in SQL Server 2000 by clicking on Managing Triggers and saving them. I have found the node for Triggers in SQL Server 2005's Management Studio and tried to create a 'New Trigger...' but when I...

A few collation questions on SQL Server 2005 SP2, which I'll call SQLS. The default collation for SQLS is apparently SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS. I wish to use a variation of this, SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CS_AI collation, but there is no such collation returned from fn_helpcollations(). Also, if I try to use this collation in a CREATE...
