How can I uninstall SQL Server 2005

1 New Member
I am running Win XP Home PC. I attempted to install the SQL 2K5 developer tools and made the mistake of install the tools before installing SQL Server. I am trying to get my machine back to the state it was in before the initial install so I can start over.

I've uninstalled all of the Microsoft SQL Server products from Add/Remove Programs, but I still see SQL Server 2005 in my Start-Programs and SQL Server management Studio is still installed. And I can still connect to the database I created during my first attempt. So apparently I haven't uninstalled very much of anything!

What am I missing?

Hi, We only purchased db2 udb license for AIX platforms. So I have to install the DB2 UDB Version8.1 tried code on my laptop (Win2k). I haven't used it for a long time. When I tried to bring the db2 instance up this week, I found I already past the expiration date. I ran uninstall/reinstall db2 code a couple of times, but I was always told - no valid license key. ======= 2005-03-11-13.23.19.879000 Instance:DB2 Node:000...

Hello, I'm having some problems installing Visual Studio 2005. I'll briefly explain what's the history of the problem here. First I installed VS 2005 beta 2. I uninstalled it later via the Windows Uninstall Tool you can download. Then I installed Visual Studio 2005 Team Edition ENU. This was a trial version for 180 days.

The setup uses couple of files and dlls. There are 2 files: one is help.xml file and other is help.chm file. Both have same properties in setup project. But after uninstall, help.chm file is removed from the install directory but help.xml remains there.

Hello, Sorry if this is slightly OT, but I reckon there would be folks here who would know... I have a Windows 2003 Server box, SP4 and .NET 2.0 installed. Trouble is that it also has .NET versions 1.0 and 1.1 installed. I would just ignore them, but occasionally one or two of the web sites on the machine seem to set themselves to the wrong version, and this causes errors. I have no idea why or how this happens, but it does happen...

Hey yall. I'm a DBA in a company where I do NOT have the ability to control who logs into my SQL servers as administrator, so I'm looking for a way to uninstall the workstation components WITHOUT completely uninstalling all of my instances. Does anyone know how to do this? All I can find is the complete removal option in add/remove, and the install cd setup doesn't have a remove function that I can find. Any idea's? The reason for...

When creating a deployment project in Microsoft Visual Studio 2005, there seems to be no option to create an uninstall link. How can this be achieved? To be specific, I want an 'Uninstall' shortcut to be created somewhere in the Start Menu. Also, when user clicks the msi file to uninstall, he should be able to select uninstall option. I know there is a command line option using msiexec, but how do I make this call in my deployment...

I am looking for a way to uninstall an application installed using the MSI Installer. I believe there should be a way out to directly call the Uninstall module specifically for a particular application using VB.Net. How can I achieve this using VB.Net? I am using VB.Net 2005. Thanks

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
