We've a database in MSSQL. For some reason, one transaction was
interrupted at network level. That corrupted our database. If we try
to attach it, we get the following error.
Server: message 3624, level 20, state 1, line 1
Location: page.cpp:2412
Expression: m_slots [-m_slotCnt + 1 + i].offset == 0
SPID: 51
Process ID: 944
connection broken
Any help will be kind
regards! 2 2810

I would strongly recommend you to open a case with Microsoft support
to resolve this. The error you see is an assertion error, that is a
programmer-added test for a condition which should be true at some
point for the following code to work. If an assertion error fires, this
is a bug in SQL Server. Even if the database is corrupted. Thus, you
should not have to pay for the case (or be refunded of what you pay
initially). I cannot guarantee that this will be the case, but whatever.
If you need to get that database back, you will need to talk to Microsoft.

Claudia,
We would encourage you to work with Microsoft Support, too. In fact we have
some fixed several issues in SQL2000 SPs that might explain the problem you
are seeing.

I'm developing on C++, using visual studio 6.0 with service pack 5.
I have a memory corruption while debugging. Some of the variables I'm
using are suddenly set to zero while progressing along the code.
The specific location of the memory corruption depends on the names I
give my local variables, on putting some of the codes in curly
brackets - {}, and on having the watch window open.
I already cleaned and re-built my project.
Can anyone...

Hi all
Yesterday I found a strange corruption-issue that I can't solve yet or actually point my finger at.
I converted an A97 app to A2k.
I have done this often enough so I didn't expect trouble here.
Conversion seems OK and I start the app. BUT . . .
Mainform doesn't work. Form comes up but none of the buttons react.
Why not? I go to design view and see that code is not compiled. (compile-option is active)
So I compile and go to normal...

The company I work for has been running Access 2000 on a Windows NT

2 corruptions a day. The registry setting for Opportunistic Locking
that was on the Windows NT server does not exist on the Windows 2000
server so we can not make the...

I have done a lot of research on DAO and database corruption and have
not yet found any solid information for my problem. I use DAO
extensively in my Access 97 databases (back-end on network, front-ends
on clients' computers). I'm having some difficulties with the
multi-user environment (my databases corrupt frequently) and I'm
thinking it has to do with how I'm using DAO to read/write to
recordsets.
Up until now, I have been setting...

Hi
We need some advice: We are thinking of upgrading our Access database
from Access 2000 to Access 2004.
How stable is MS Office 2003? (particularly Access 2003).
We are just a small company and this is a big decision for us(!) It's
not just the money it's committing to an new version of Access!

Since upgrading one of my clients from A97/W2000 to A2003/XP they have
suffered no end of data corruption problems, mainly involving one of
the main tables. The corruption can result in one record's fields
turning into chinese characters. On running the compact/repair I can
see that the corruption may be deeper than I expected because sometimes
indexes are missing and need to be replaced.
I used to think that overuse of 'ctrl-alt-delete'...

Please forgive me, this is a long one.
My 11-user Access 2000 database is having recurring corruption
problems. The symptoms include the following:
1) corrupted fields in recently created or accessed records
2) incorrectly linked records via primary and foreign keys (looking at
the tables displays the correct key number but when filtered it links
to a different number).
3) truncating of text entered in a memo field

I am in a friendly debate with some co-workers... and my boss.
We use Access 2003 for the frontend (on workstations) as well as for
the backend (on a Dell PowerEdge running Windows 2000 server, SP4).
We have approx. 20 users *logged in* at any one time (over 300
userid's exist), but we have never run metrics to see how many on
average are accessing the database concurrently.
About once every few weeks, the database mysteriously becomes...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
