Hi all,
I have a Windows 2003 server, which is also a terminal server for
application, with sql 2000 installed. My company has developed an
application that uses SQL 2000 as its database. The application is a
client/server one. In each client computer there's a link to the
application on the server. There is no problem with Windows 98,
Windows 2000 pro, Windows xp pro clients, but the windows 95 ones
cannot log in to the database. The...

We recently upgraded some of our department's machines from WINNT to
Windows 2000. Up until this point, we were running Access 2000 on
WINNT and had no problems with our databases. After the upgrade, we
have users running Win2000 and Access 2000.
Here's a brief description of the problem.
1. I have a main form that loads when the application is launched. It
contains a list box that queries for two columns from a table: an id
number...

I am experiencing difficulty access a mapped network drive in an ASP.NET
application.
While using the .Net framework v 1.1 implementation of
System.IO.Directory.Exists(), it fails to recognize a mapped network drive.
This is true if the path specified uses a mapped drive letter or is
expressed as a UNC address. I have also tried the drive letter and UNC
paths with and without trailing backslashes, respectively.

I did lot of googling to see if I can solve the SQL server not found
problem while trying to run ASP.Net community starter kit from an XP
machine to Windows 2003 server hosting SQL server 2000 database. Tried
all possible combinations but it still fails.
I have Windows 2003 server having SQL Server 2000 installed with SP2.
The installation went Ok on a XP professional machine and I was able
to create database and user logins etc on...

I'm having a credentialing problem in my web application. Actually, I don't
think this is an IIS security issue, since I'm able to access the page I'm
requesting. However, the executing page itself is not able to access a
specific network resource and I just can't figure out why. First of all, let
me say this worked fine with IIS running on Win2000 Server. This has not
worked since I upgraded to Windows Server 2003.
My Platform: Windows...

I am running a Windows Server 2003 machine as my web server. I would
like to use Windows authentication for connections to my SQL Server
2000 instance on a Windows 2000 server. I've read where mirroring the
ASPNET account and password on the web server and SQL server would
work. However, with IIS 6, ASP.NET runs under the 'NT
AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE' account. Should I change the password of
the 'NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE' account...

I recently needed to upgrade a sql 2000 machine to 2005. Instead of
upgrading the sql 2000 default instance, I installed sql 2005 as a
separate named instance so we could go back to sql 2000 if necessary.
The web server that connected to the new server didn't have anything
change on it except the database ip was changed to
machinename\instancename instead of just machinename. SQL
authentication was being used and the exact same...

advanced server to Windows 2003 SP2.
We have few ASP.Net applications built with .NET framework 1.1 running on
the web server.
I am looking for the known issues that I need to go over before we start the
upgrade.
Appreiciate your help.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
