what is the best methodolgy to replace a server with a new server in a
multiple sql server environment.. Is is using back up/restore to
another/bridge type server then rename servers or is it to bring in new
server then tranfer the datafiles. Does tranfering the data files
include logins and jobs ?? Or is ther a better way that I have not

Hi!
I have a batch-file (*.bat) which logon the client to our server, including
printer and drive mappings.
Now I want to replace the batch-file with a script for the windows scripting
host, because I want the users to enter their username and password, and
then the script should make the mappings suitable to the username...
I lookd for the WSH and VBSCRIPT and JSCRIPT, but I didn't get any usable

The application is at present a 'classic' FE on each workstation, BE on
server split. Both Access 2000. Windows 2000 Server server, Win 2K pro
workstations.
1. I've been getting quite a few 'Disk or Network error' messages. On
various machines.
2. And also some 'cannot find the field blahblah referred to in your
expression'. I suspect that the second message is also a network error.

My establishment has about 20 ms access db's that will be converted over (see
subject).
When we pull all the BE's over to SQL and the FE's on Sharepoint (.net)
surely we don't have to change every user face, we should be able to use the
same FE in as before as now on Sharepoint?

Hello again experts,
I have successfully pulled data from an LDAP server and now what I want
to do is drop the data into a database table. The following is my code
that will insert the data but that has problems.
FullName=Request.Form("Name")
Email=Request.Form("Email")
GivenName=Request.Form("GivenName")

This is somewhat of a strange issue. Allow me to detail it as much as I can.
We use the Blackboard Transaction System (BTS) for all students dinning services. The "ENVISION" server is Running Windows 2003 Server with Oracle 8+. All clients/registers are NCR Windows-based devices with the BTS system installed. They all come pre-imaged from Blackboard. They are spread across multiple VLANs within our robust (class B) network, spread across...

An unusual spin to this recurring disk or network error in a Terminal
Server environment. Access 2000, Terminal Server 2000, file server is
windows 2000. All users have a separate copy of the front end db,
everyone accesses the back-end db via a network share. To preface,
non Terminal Server users (4 or 5 in office) never have this problem.
There are two Terminal Servers running win 2000, both basically
identical. This error affects...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
