how do i write a sql (ORACLE) statement for where the first word in

This is SQL Server newsgroup, so here is how you can do it in SQL Server.
For Oracle you have to check the Oracle newsgroups.

CREATE TABLE Foo (
keycol INT PRIMARY KEY,
businessname VARCHAR(50));

INSERT INTO Foo VALUES(1, 'Tools');
INSERT INTO Foo VALUES(2, 'Someverylongbu sinessname Inc.');
INSERT INTO Foo VALUES(3, 'Short Inc.');
INSERT INTO Foo VALUES(4, 'Anotherverylon gbusinessname') ;

SELECT businessname
FROM Foo
WHERE CHARINDEX(' ', businessname + ' ') 18;

First of all, I'm an Asian and I need to input Japanese, Korean and so on. I've tried many PHP IDEs today, but almost non of them supported Unicode (UTF-8) file. I've found that the only Unicode support IDEs are DreamWeaver 8 and Zend PHP Studio. DreamWeaver provides full support for Unicode. However, DreamWeaver is a web editor rather than a PHP IDE. It only supports basic IntelliSense (or code completion) and doesn't have anything...

I have a lookup table from which I want to categorize various bands of customer net income. Some of the income is positive, some is negative. The bands vary in size (ie, <500, -200 to 0, 100 to 1000). When I have a lookup table w/ the "threshold" amounts of income, I'm not able to get dlookup to work, and I'm pretty sure it's getting tripped up by negative / positive lookup values. Is it not possible to do lookups on a table w/ both...

Dear all, I would like to know the easiest efficient way to set or inject a particular value in the given word or byte?The problem is: I have to implement a function which will set a value from position "n" to "n+x" where n and x are passed dynamically,where n is start position of the bit from which i will be setting a value and x is the position where I will be finishing the setting.In short it looks like this:

Hi, everything works apart from the last line :-(( rng.Value2.ToString() An exception is thrown : "Old format or invalid type library" It gets compiled though (so he recognizes the property 'Value2'). So I suppose I'm using a incompatible type lib. I'm using Excel 2002 : Excel 10.0 Object Library

One common answer is that all compilers keep the size of integer the same as the size of the register on a particular architecture. Thus, to know whether the machine is 32 bit or 64 bit, just see the size of integer on it. Is it Correct?? Or there any other way of finding it out? Do I need to mention that through a C++ program..??

I figured my first step is to install the win32 extension, which I did, but I can't seem to find any documentation for it. A couple of the links on Mark Hammond's site don't seem to work. Anyway, all I need to do is search in the Word document for certain strings and either delete them or replace them. Easy enough, if only I knew which function, etc. to use. Hope someone can push me in the right direction.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
