The MSDE does not contain Enterprise Manager and Query Analyzer. The MSDE
is basically the SQL Server database engine with some restrictions (like a 2
gig max database size). The MSDE allows you to create SQL applications,
just like having SQL Server Desktop or Entrprise version etc., you just
don't have the GUI tools available to you.

Don't know about your problem, however there is a 120 day free trial
of the full ms sql server that can be downloaded from Microsoft's
site. This does include the query analyzer / enterprise manager. You
could also buy the developers version of ms sql server that costs
under $100, and I believe that has the tools that you want.

The professional version of Visual Studio does not contain Enterprise
manager.
There is a freeware program called MSDEQuery that you can use instead of MS
Query, look for it on the internet.
I use a version of SQL Server called the Personal Edition (I think that's
waht it's called), which came with Office XP Developer and it has Enterprise
Manager included, so I would think the developer edition would as well.
If you have MS Access, you might try that as I understand you can develop a
database "Project", which is a front end into a SQL Server database. I
don't know for sure, but I think you can build the SQL Server tables that
way. I havn't tried this, so I culd be wrong, but if you have Access it's
worth looking into.

Hello all,
I have VS 2005 and SQL 2005 installed on my machine. However the "Getting
Started" area of the Start Page shows SQL information instead of Visual
Studio information when I start up Visual Studio 2005. Is there any way to
