Visual Studio .Net 2002 database connection error from server expl

Server exploI have recently installed Visual Studio .Net 2002 on my
workstation running XP Professional. I can connect to local Access and MSDE
databases successfully using ADO .Net. I can also setup ODBC dsn's that I
can use from Access to browse my MSDE databases.

When I try to add a new MSDE data connection from within Visual Studio's
server exployer, I get as far as successfully executing the connection test.
However, when I close the dialog box in which I created the new connection, I
always receive the following error: "Unable to ad data connection. The
connection failed. Check your username and password, and try again."

In addition, from the server explorer Servers list, I can add the server on
which my MSDE database instance is located. When I drill down to the Sql
Servers section, I can see list mye MSDE database instance, but it has a red
cross through its icon.

As I mentioned, I can access tables in my MSDE database successfully through
VB.Net code, through Access, through the osql tool, but not through Visual
Studio. I have run the Visual Studio repair installation process, but this
did not help.

Has anyone reading this encountered similar problems? I would appreciate
any help or feedback.

Thanks in advance,

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
