I am using the java.util.zip package to create zip files. I can
create a new archive and add files to it without any trouble. But if
I already have a zip file created, how do I add a new file to the
archive without impacting the existing files? I looked through the
APIs with no luck. I would rather avoid extracting all the files and
rebuilding the archive from scratch if at all possible.

Is there a way to stop archive logging while the
data is being imported?
If not, is it safe to delete archive logs that haven't expired?

I am using DB2 8.2 on RH Linux 8.0.
I just compiled db2uext2.c but failed to archive the log files, did

I have a foxpro program which is for producing excel reports back
ended to foxpro table(.dbf). Since the table is getting bigger and
bigger, it slows down my program. I need a program which can create a
table archive to store last month's data which isn't needed for this

I need to store a large number of files in an archive. From Python, I
need to be able to create an archive, put files into it, modify files
that are already in it, and delete files already in it.
The easy solution would be to use a zip file or a tar file. Python has
good standard modules for accessing those types. However, I would tend
to think that modifying or deleting files in the archive would require
rewriting the entire archive.

Problem: I'd like to archive off the contents of a text file. However,
other processes may have the file open, so MoveTo(newfilepath) can't be
done, as far as I've found.
Start with a 5 MB MyLog.txt file that may be opened (reading and/or
writing) by several handles. The Final state I'm looking for is an
archive file MyLog_YYYYMMDDHHMMSS.txt with the 5 MB contents and the
