Visual Foxpro program to create a table archive (stores last month's data which isn't needed for this month's report), use visual basic to write??? possible? how?

Hi...
I have a foxpro program which is for producing excel reports back
ended to foxpro table(.dbf). Since the table is getting bigger and
bigger, it slows down my program. I need a program which can create a
table archive to store last month's data which isn't needed for this
month's report. Therefore, I can run that archive program once a
month to save outdated data into the table archive. By doing that, I
can keep my current table small. Also I will have a big accumulated
backup archive table to store my old data.

Thanks...

Hello there, just been thrown in the deep end with .NET, I need to perform the equivalent of "Set Relation" using CSharp and ADO.NET on two Foxpro tables. My basic needs are: Open two Foxpro tables, relate them using two common fields, scan through every record ( loads of logic goes here... ) create and write to an output table. I know how to open, read, and write, but am at a loss as to how to join them on their common fields ( or if it's...

I'm trying to forge ahead with Visual Basic .Net but recently I've suffered several major set backs in demonstrating VB is the future and we should move from Visual FoxPro. I really need to find help on this is. My current problem is I've got to display some Visual FoxPro data from stand alone tables in a datagrid (Widows App). The main table is 50 meg with 540,000+ records. 1 of the others joined to it is 11 meg and the other 2 are...

In the book: "Working with Microsoft Visual Studio 2005" Craig Skibo wrote: "The power of Visual Studio 2005 lies in its ability to empower users to build, test, and debug powerful applications quickly and easly." I don't agree on what concernes ASP .NET Web Sites in VS2005. All what involves Namespaces in Web sites has been disappeared. I know you can still MANUALLY manage them, but not QUICKLY and EASLY. Is it possible? Bestcrypt can supposedly be set up on linux, but it seems to need changes to the kernel before it can be installed, and I have no intention of going through whatever hell that would cause. If I could create a large file that could be encrypted, and maybe add files to it by appending them and putting in some kind of delimiter between files, maybe a homemade version of truecrypt could be constructed. Any idea what it...

I have been given the task of converting a program from VFP (visual foxpro) to Visual Basic.net. My question is "Is it possible to generate a DBF file Dynamically(at runtime) using Visual Basic.Net?" With all the field properties, such as, field length and type. I'm not sure if this is a stupid quesiton or If I am just over looking something, but I have not found solid information on the internet about this topic. Any useful...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
