We have just installed a SQL Server 2000 (SP 3A) onto a computer that
has Windows-2003 Server on it. Now, we cannot get access to that
database server from other computers. Seem like this may be an issue
with Active Directory.
Our network consists of Windows-2000 Servers (SP 4) and Windows-2000
workstations and Windows-XP workstations. We also have SQL Server 2000
(SP2) in three Windows-2000 servers. All work fine. Recently, we get a...

Can anyone help me understand what it takes to define a Linked Server
connection to an IBM eSeries (AS400)? Do I need Microsoft's SNA Server
or some other product or can I simply do it with the tools provided with
SQL Server 2000?
Any guidance would be very appreciated. Thanks.

Hi
I've spent ALL DAY trying to re-install SQL Server 2000 on Windows XP.
I continually get the error 'cannot configure server' just at the end
of the installation. I've tried the following:
- Removing SQL server from 'Program Files' folder following an
unsuccessful attempt to re-install, and entirely removing the registry
entry 'HKEY_CURRENT_USER > SOFTWARE > Microsoft > MSSQLServer', as
well as the corresponding entry under...

Hello
I have a server running .NET SDK v1.1 and MS SQL server
2000. I am using VS.NET v1.1 enterprice while some others
are running VS.NET v 1.0 professional.
The problems lies in adding new tables in the SQL bases
in .NET server explorer. Seperate users for each SQL db
are made. I can add new tables to the db's but not the
others with v1.0. Even though we use the same users.

Something strange has happened on my computer. I am unable to link tables
from SQL Server 2000. I have tried from Access 97 and 2000, but keep
getting the error "The Microsoft Jet database engine could not find the
object 'tablename'..."
I have SQL Server 7 and SQL Server 2000 installed as an instance on the same
computer. Linking has always worked fine previously, but something has
obviously changes in the meantime. I tried to...

Has anyone heard of a problem with a rebuild of one application
causing a problem with another app on the same server?
I have two asp.net applications on the same Win2000 server, each with
it's own web site (i.e. IP, root folder, etc.). Each accesses it's
own SQL Server 2000 database. Let's call them App A and App B.
If I open a page in App A that starts a long-running process...so it's
sitting there in perpetual "loading page" state...

I have installed an SQL Server 2000 Developer Edition (SP4) on a
computer that has Windows Server 2003 on it.The server is connected to
the workgroup "WORK" and has no Active Directory. Now I cannot connect

Hi,
I am at a loss here, I have a c# asp.net website which connects to a
remote SQL Server 2000 db via a connection string. If I set the
website up in the filesystem and use the inbuilt cassini webserver in
VS2005 then everything is rosy. If I then set up the website on the
local IIS 5.1 the site no longer connects and returns this error:
An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server.
When connecting to SQL Server...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
