Identifying Error Line in a Stored Proc

1 New Member
Hi

We record the error line using the Err_Line() function within the catch block for our procedures.

When we open the procedure and check the corresponding line number using a Management Studio Console, the line numbers do not see to match. We sometimes are shown a blank/empty line !!

How is this normally done to identify the exact line of code where the error occured?

Regards
Ramesh

I feel like I'm missing something obvious here, but I'm stumped... I have a stored procedure with code that looks like: INSERT INTO MyTableA ( ...fields... ) VALUES (...values...) IF (@@ERROR <> 0) BEGIN ROLLBACK TRANSACTION; RAISERROR('An error occurred in the stored proc.', 16, 1);

All, we are trying to create and execute our stored procs on db2 ver 8.1 fp5. This is a new database that we setup and are having some trouble. When I try and run the stored proc from the db2 command line, I get the following error: SQL0440N No authorized routine named "XXX" of type "PROCEDURE" having compatible arguments was found. SQLSTATE=42884 When the application (java) tries to execute the sp. we see the following error:

I am having a problem with a nested SQL Procedure on DB2 V8.2.1 on Windows. This simple-looking proc is giving me this error message when I try to build it in the Development Center: RHINO.CALLED01: 18: SQL0104N An unexpected token "<cursor declaration>" was found following "". Expected tokens may include: "<SQL statement>". LINE NUMBER=18 SQLSTATE=42601 Here is the source code for the proc; line 18 is the line that begins

This one must be very simple. I am trying to run an SQL Serv 7.0 stored proc from a VBA module in an Access 2000 app. This stored proc runs fine when I remove the parameters from the stored proc and from the CommandText string below, but when I run it as is I get the error SQL Serv Syntax Error or Access Violation on the "Execute" line. _ContactFetchLike 'Thom%' also works when I run it from the Query Analyser.

Hi guys, when we run a stored proc and it results into an unhandled error, the error message returned by db2 udb does not contain a line number that caused an error. This makes it pretty difficult to debug those procs. Line number have always been there in Oracle messages. When I Googled on this, I saw some people showing DB2 Stored Proc error messages with line numbers in them (like LINE NUMBER=1285), which makes me believe that...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
