In the following function there is an access violation error, some
memory can't be read. A week ago this code did compile.
Can anyone possibly tell me why my compiler is unable to read part of
this function.
bool processdrecord( ofstream& prnfile, ofstream& validdata, char*
record )
{
drecord Newdrecord;
char customercode;

I have 2 tables, one with names, and another with addresses, joined by their
CIVICID number (unique to the ADDRESSINFO table) in Oracle.
I need to update a field in the NAMEINFO table for a particular surname in a
particular town.
I can select the records fine with this syntax (testing in Oracle SQL* Plus)
SELECT NAMEINFO.LASTNAME, NAMEINFO.FIRSTNAME, NAMEINFO.MIDDLENAME,
NAMEINFO.GENDER, ADDRESSINFO.REGION FROM NAMEINFO, ADDRESSINFO...

Hi,
I am running SQL Server 2000 SP3 on Windows Server 2003 and since recently
have a strange problem executing shape queries from COM+ components using
ADO.
Until 4 days ago, they worked, then from one moment to the next (I must have
changed something, but I have no clue what other than restoring a 1.2 GB
database) they started failing with this error:

Hi,
I'm running Access '03, SQL SERVER 2k on Windows XP SP1. I've not got
a ton of experience in writing UDF's for t-sql.
In SQL Query Analyzer, I'm trying to write a user defined scalar
function that returns a bit. I'm getting a vague error- so I'm not
quite sure what's wrong. I want the function to return true if the
parameter varchar matches one of three varchar's.

Hi all,
In the code snippet below I successfully determine the address of val1:*
struct o val1=l_SYM_2B(&a).o;
print_aesthetic(&val1);
The structure o is heavyweight. I understand (hopefully correctly) that
(barring compiler optimisations) C will shallow copy the structure into
val1.

I have an ASP page in which there is embedded SQL. I am trying to use variables in the SQL but am getting the error 'syntax error or access violation'.
In the past, I have successfully used variables for table names and within WHERE clauses in SQL in an ASP page. This time, I am trying to use variables in the SELECT portion of an INSERT statement.
(1) The following code works in a SQL stored procedure:
DECLARE @BatchId uniqueidentifier...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
