Hi

This is a follow-up post from my post (please click here) as CyberSoftHari suggested me to post it here.

These are the tables that I've made:

Schedules
-ScheduleID
-StartTime
-EndTime
-DayID*
-RoomID*

Day
-DayID
-Day

Room
-RoomID
-RoomName
-Description

Course
-CourseID
-Title
-Description

Sections
-SectionID
-Title
-Description

SectionSemester
-SectionID*
-SemesterID*
-ScheduleID*

Semester
-SemesterID
-Semester

Is it OK or NOT? Any suggestions please...

I tried to other forum, but they said that I you should alter my database design a bit, so that data entered by the user is stored in individual records in a table; then, you can much more easily use SQL to check to see if there is a schedule conflict.

By having a single field containing two pieces of data ('M' 'M/TH', for example,) it makes it extremely difficult to solve the issue using SQL.

Please help? Any suggestions please...

Hi, I'm hoping that someone will be able to help me with this one, I'm developing an application which basically inserts a load of data into the database ready for validation at a later date, I wrote an INSERT statement that works fine however today I decided that as part of the application upgrade it should be return the record ID so I wrote the following which I admit is a little messy at places but it works. However when I added all...

In my app I have lots of forms with data presented in various ways using all kinds of controls. Is there a simple way of detecting if the user has changed any data? I would like to do this so I could set a boolean value to True and then I could use that to modify what is displayed on my reports. In my dim memory is there a dirty property for forms that would do this? Would that always work for every form? Most, if not all, of my...

I'm having a problem with two different javascript controls in my app. The first chuck of javascript that I pasted into my app is the client-side calendar control popup which works fine when first used. The second piece of javascript pasted into the app serves as a data validation message box that fires after some server-side code executes (if a certain error condition exists). This action is tied to a submit button that upon NO error...

Hi, I created a short date field. The format is dd/mm/yyyy when displayed. The input mask is set to 99/99/00;0 (default, I didn't type anything). If I edit an existing date, say change 12/14/2007 to 12/15/2007, I get an error "the value you entered isn't appropriate for the input mask." I have to delete the "20" in the year to get it accepted, and then it puts the 20 right back. (I have the field set to required.) I changed 99/99/00;0...

Hello all, Using Acc2000, I'm getting a Write Conflict when trying to move to the next record. I have a form that is bound to a table. It has 7 check boxes representing each day of the week and a button to submit button. I check one of the boxes and click the submit cmd button which updates several fields in the table including the checkboxes and date/time stamps. I get the "Write Conflict" dialog box when code reaches the...

I'm trying to understand how these two concepts could work together architecturally (if they can.) I realize both concepts provide benefits of re-use and ease of maintenance. Which is important when you are setting up multiple sites that are similar. But it seems like using both Design Patterns and Layered Architecture together would create conflicts -- especially in the area of keeping layers loosely coupled (and even physically on...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
