Translate from OPEN FOR USING and FOR LOOP from Oracle to SQL SERVER

1 New Member
Hi guys,

I'm new to Oracle and I need to transfer some scripts from Oracle to SQL SERVER. I've done most of them but this is where I'm stuck:

1. How do I put OPEN FOR USING in Sql Server?
ex:
OPEN MyCursor FOR SEL || FRM || WHR || ORD
USING PATNUMBER,, SORDERTYPESTR, SORDERTYPESTR, SSTATUSSTR,, SDATE;

2. How do I put FOR LOOP in SQL SERVER?
ex:
FOR REC IN MyCursor LOOP
STEXTTYPE := REC.CODE;
END LOOP;

I really hope anyone can help me plssssssssssss.

Hi all Is there a TSQL function like Oracle's Translate function? Where: Translate('13,000 Miles','abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyzABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ, ',' ') would return '13000'? I'm trying to extract a number from a string. REPLACE doesn't quite do what I want.

Open source programs in general suck pretty bad also. Here are some loose facts regarding why projects like Linux, PHP, MYSQL, and other open source programs suck: - Linux is simply a clone of an operating system over 20 years old similar to DOS (Unix). That's ALL Linux is. The kernal was taken, decompiled, and stolen by Linus himself. That's a fact. Xerox should have sued, but at the during the early 1991, no one was really using Unix...

I am using VB.NET 2003, SQL 2000, and SqlDataReader. As I read data from tblA, I want to populate tblB. I use SQLDataReader for both tables. I do not use thread. When I ExecuteReader on tblB, I get the error "There is already an open DataReader associated with this Connection which must be closed first." How can I fix this error ? For each DataReader, do I want to open and close the connection (in this case adoCon) to avoid this error ?...

Hello, I have found a perl script and need to "translate" this to PHP. I try to do it step by step and the first part of it is this function (the whole script is found at http://nonsense.sourceforge.net/): ### Load and parse a datafile, slurping the contents into the %pool hash sub LoadDataFile { my $file = shift; $file = SafeFile( $file ) if $cgi_mode; open IN, $file or die "Error opening $file... $!\n"; local $/ = ''; ...

PRAGMA:-Signifies that the statement is a pragma (compiler directive). Pragmas are processed at compile time, not at run time. They pass information to the compiler. A pragma is an instruction to the Oracle compiler that tells it to do something. In this case you are telling Oracle to associate an error that you choose to a variable that you choose. This pragma must go in the declarative section of your block. Types of PRAGMA...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
