Hi
We are running SQL 2000 Enterprice version with SP3a on a Dell
Poweedge 5600 server running Advance Server. It has Tape drive
PowerVault 110T (DLT VS80 Tape Drive) & uses DLT tapeIV tapes. A DB
maintenance job had been specified to backup on to tape daily. I have
following issues;
1.The backup job sometimes fails with the following error in Event
log(Event ID:17055)

Hi all,
I have a very old MSSQL data backup file.
I do not even remember that it was created in SQL7 or 2000.
Anyway, I'm trying to recreate DB from this backup.
Is it possible to create DB from backup file?
I tried restore from that file and SQL server complaining.
"The file on device '***' is not valid Microsoft tape format backup set."

I have a problem creating a backup in SQL Server 6.5. Although, the

DDS3 Tape(local).
Backup procedure:
1. open SQL Server Enterprise Manager
2. find the database i want to backup
3. right click and select "All Tasks"-"Backup Databse..."
4. Select "destination"-"backup to"-->>"Tape"
5. Click "Add", Select "Tape" device name(or may address)"\\.\Tape0"
6. Click "OK" begin to backup

It hit me this time on W2K running DB2 V8.1.5.
It returned the following warning:

Folks,
One of our system crashed last week. It had few database instances on it.
They are all for development and was deteremined that they do not need to be
backed up (database backup, the file system was getting backed up).
The system had been running without any problem for few years so some of the
developers relied on it being up all the time and added data that could not
be easily re-created.

Hi everyone,
I am running DB2 8.2 under SuSE SLES9 (zSeries).
My current problem is when trying to make a direct backup to tape.
- I can make a DB2 backup to a filesystem and it works fine. (e.g.
backup into /tmp/test)
- And I can also tar the created file into a 3590 tape drive and it
works fine too. (e.g. tar into /dev/rtibm0 )

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
