How to search a dates earlier than January 1, 1753

10 New Member
Hello Experts.

I have a database that deals with history. Since MSSQL 2000 cannot accept dates earlier than Jan 1, 1753 I converted my column to CHAR.

My problem now is I cannot find dates on a Range..If supposing my datatype is DATETIME, I would use DATE1 BETWEEN STARTDATE AND ENDDATE.

Thank you in advance.

you can use where clause like

Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. where DateField >= '<FromDateValue>' and DateField >= '<ToDateValue>'

The important thing when using this is to cast or convert the date in the correct char/varchar format. YYYYMMDD HHMMSS will let you use the between comparison above.

You may have to stuff a leading zero into months and days (and years) that are not comprised of the full 4 digits.

I'm trying to write some code that will convert any of the most popular standard date formats twice in to something like "dd Mmm yyyy" (i.e. 08 Jan 1908) and compare the first with the second and calculate days, months, and years. This is not for a college course. It's for my own personal genealogy website. I'm stumped about the code. I'm working on it but not making much progress. Is there any free code available anywhere? I know it...

Hello, I have an Access DB with a column holding dates from present day back to around year 1702, and I am trying to run DTS Import with this MDB, which fails due to a conversion error. MSDN says the datetime data type only allows 1753-01-01 to 1900-01-01, thus I am under the impression having the field as varchar is the only way to store the dates.

Hello! I've built a program that show some dates to users. I got a problem when users have different configured time zone machines, where: - One machine that determined time zone the date displayed is 01/01/2006. - In other different machine (and other configured time zone), the date displayed is 12/31/2006 19:00:00 If I redefine the time zones of these two machines to the same, the date

I am trying to calculate the number of workdays between two dates with regards to holidays as well. I have used Arvin Meyer's code on the Access Web, but as I am in Australia and my date format is dd/mm/yyyy, I have found that the dates I put in my holidays table are reversed into American dates. So, the wrong holiday dates are subtracted from the total workdays between the start and end dates. Is there an easy fix for this? ******Code...

Here's the rest of the tutorial I started earlier: Aside from text within a document, Indexing Service let you search on meta information stored in the files. For example, MusicArtist and MusicAlbum let you find MP3 and other music files based on the singer and album name; DocAuthor let you find Office documents created by a certain user; DocAppName let you find files of a particular program, and so on. Indexing Service uses plug-ins...

(1) Does PHP provide any way to handle dates prior to 1980? I know there's problems with Microsoft Windows NT and all Windows NT operating systems will allow a date prior to 1980 to be placed upon a file, but it ends up not being able to display the date (probably an Windows Explorer specific issue). (2) I'm looking for for ways to store dates and process dates (dates only). This probably ends up as a database specific issue, so I'm...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
