Storing return type from a function

1 New Member
Hi
I have one function returning TABLE and I want to save the value returned by this function into a stored procedure to reuse later.

Function:
CREATE or replace FUNCTION list_to_tbl (@list nvarchar(MAX))
RETURNS @tbl TABLE (ename varchar2 NOT NULL) AS
BEGIN
....

Stored Procedure:
REATE PROCEDURE testme1 @ids varchar(50) AS
declare @mytable TABLE
set @mytable= list_to_tbl((@i ds)
------------
-----------

But I am not able to set the value as getting error at statement :
set @mytable= list_to_tbl((@i ds)
The MS SQL server is expecting a built-in function not an user defined one.
Please help...

Try this:
DECLARE @mytable Table (field1 varchar(2))

INSERT INTO @mytable
SELECT ename
FROM list_to_tbl(@id s)

Hello there, I am at my wit's end ! I have used the following script succesfully to upload an image to my web space. But what I really want to be able to do is to update an existing record in a table in MySQL with the path & filename to the image. I have successfully uploaded and performed an update query on the database, but the problem I have is I cannot retain the primary key field in a variable which is then used in a SQL update...

Further to my last post here, I was playing some more with building a regex object and storing it somewhere for use internally by a function. I'm not happy with any of my solutions: # I don't like this, but the fact that you can modify the procedure's # function via a named argument seems neat in a hacky sort of way. def uses_default_parm_yuck(x, r = re.compile("...")): pass

Hello. I'm working with ASP.NET serverside and am looking for an easy way to retain scroll position of the window. Is there any way that a hidden form field could *always* have the current document.scrolltop value set to it? Especially right before any posting to the server is done. I'm using asp.net datagrid code that does not give me any easy way to

Hi, I have a situation where I have created an object that contains fields, properties and functions. After creating the object I attempted to assign it to a session variable so i could retrieve the information it contained on another page. This was significant because I am initially loading the data from the database, then storing relevent information in the object, I am allowing users to change the data then preview the modifications...

Hello everyone, I'm storing functions in a dictionary (this is basically for cooking up my own fancy schmancy callback scheme, mainly for learning purpose): .... return "f2 " + arg .... .... return "f1" + arg ....

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
