Hi.
I am experiencing problems connecting to MSSQL.
I'm not sure where to begin looking for the problem.
I don't know if the problem is originating with PHP or MSSQL
What should the host name be? When I mouse over MSSQL manager it says
"\\S-CIS-0042"
$db_host='local'; //IP/host of the database server

Follow up to this thread, the latest Oracle 9i release 2 patchset
(9.2.0.5) fixed the handle count leak problem. The problem is in
Oracle client component.
Thanks.

I'm trying to get some clues on why I get (much) slower responses from
my PHP applications when dealing with a remote sql server as opposed to
a local sql server.
Here's my situation:
Server #1
MSSQL 2000 sp4
Windows 2000 Server
PHP4 on IIS5 (CGI)

Don't know if there is a simple solution for this one or not. When
running SQL server on a machine with 2000 loaded and the complete SQL
package I don't have any issues. Now I'm trying to login using my XP
machine with MSSQL developer edition, and I can not connect to my
remote servers via TCP/IP. It can see the server, and it establishes a
connection, but I can't access my files, and the connection seems
incredibly slow. I have checked my...

I built a PHP website on Windows 2000 (using IIS) that connects to a
SQL Server 2000 database using the mssql functions. I migrated the
website and the database onto a Windows 2003 machine, and now the mssql
functions are significantly slower. On the Windows 2000 machine, the
mssql_connect takes .03 seconds to run, and the odbc_connect takes the
same amount of time. On Windows 2003, the mssql_connect takes a full
second to run, but...

I installed MSSQL 2000 on my desktop (running NT 2000). No problem. I created an adp and attached it to a database within MSSQL 2000, no problem.
When I go into MS Access, on another PC (running Windows XP Pro) on the same network, and try to create a using 'Project(Existing Data)' and connect it to MSSQL 2000 on my desktop, I fill in the Data Link Properties '1. Select or enter server name', no problem, '2. I click on Use Windows NT...

Hi Guys,
Is there anyone who have tried installing MSSQL 2000 and MSSQL 2005 servers in one desktop computer?
I have tried using MSDE and successfully install the MSSQL 2000 server but when I tried installing MSSQL 2005, it allows only the client tools.
I have revert the process and successfully install MSSQL 2005 server but now the MSDE was prompting me an error.
Is possible to install both versions of MSSQL servers in one desktop...

I am having difficulty connecting to SQL Server 2000 on one of our
servers via a VB6 program on Vista. I can connect fine to a different
server, but it gives me the following error with the server in
question:
"Unable to connect to database. Please check your internet connection
Error# -2147467259

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
