Importing DTS package to SSIS under x64 More options

Hey there! I have a DTS import package from an old SQL server that
takes flat text files, does some munging on the columns using ActiveX
scripts and imports those flat files to various tables.

The package itself is rather tedious because it does this munging on
a
number of large files with a number of different fields.
When I bring the package in via SSIS, importing/migrating the
package,
the column mappings are completely gone, as are the ActiveX
scripts...
Is there a known issue with ActiveX column mapping and SSIS?
I'd hate to have to create the package all over again using SSIS, it
would be a LOT of work...

Hi, I need to call an SSIS package from ASP.NET 2.0 web page. First I triy to call it directly from the asp.net page, as the following: Dim app As New Application Dim pack As Package = app.LoadPackage("C:\GetNorthwindEmployee.dtsx", Nothing) Dim result As DTSExecResult = pack.Execute() This fails although the same code in Windows app works. I think it's a security rights issue so I give the full control right to the dtsx file and

DSN ODBC pwd not saved when SSIS package imported SQL Server 2005 SP2 (Windows 32bit version) Implemented and FULLY tested a SSIS package with BIDs. This package uses a Data Reader object using a ODBC data source with a stored username (uid) and password (pwd). These are saved with the package locally. I then import the package directly in to SQL Server. I then create a scheduled SQL Agent job to run this package daily. When I look...

Hi I've got an Ingres database of some 200 tables which I need to import every night into SQL Server 2005 for use by Reporting Services. Most of the tables will come across unchanged (a few need massaging to handle time intervals correctly), but the Import Wizard only seems to want to import one table (or more accurately query) at a time. I seem to remember the old 2000 Import Wizard handled multiple tables - is there any way of...

I have built a SSIS package which runs fine in BIDS. I went into Sql Server Management Studio and created a new job and job step. When I select the SQL Server Integration Services Package, I get the below error. There are no options on selecting a SSIS package. I searched this error for about 5 hours yesterday and the only solution I could find was a user who rebooted their server which fixed this problem. I did restart the server,...

I'm new to SSIS. Can someone point me in the right direction on how to execute an SSIS package from a button OnClick? With DTS in SQL2000, I just created a job that ran the DTS package and then ran the job from a Stored Procedure. Thanks! Phil

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
