I am trying to write some code that inserts or updates a text field in my
SQL Server 2000 database. The SQL statement is created using a submit from
a form, and the text is coming from a <textarea>, and therefore being placed
into the SQL statement via a Request("field"). However, due to limitations
in SQL Server 2000 and text fields, I can not use a simple Update or Insert
command with text over 8000 bytes.

Getting really stumped here.....
Using Classic.ASP and after an editing page has been completed I need
to write the values back to an Access 2000 database. But I'm battling
with a checkbox resultwhich has to be stored in aYes/No field.
I'm testing the variable no_mail to see if it returns "on" in ASP

I'm having a problem trying to add a record to a simple Access 2000 db
(db is very similar to an address book but with more info than the
usual address, phone, etc.).
The database is one table, 36 fields. The record_id field is an
autonumber field (long int) and primary key. The rest of the fields

I have a very simple db I use for keeping track of hours, tasks, projects,
clients etc. It has a form that I use to enter data. Currently the form has
a textbox for a field called "start time", another for a field called "end
time" and a third for a field called "hours", among other controls. I now

I have a table in which I have created one hyperlink-type field. I
have given the field a default value which is an email-address. The
default value is (for example): "mailto:mymail@here.com".

I can reliably corrupt a record by doing the following ...
Open two separate but identical front ends on one PC each linking to the
same back end.
Edit a records in one front end and leave it unsaved.
Edit the same record in the other front end and save the change.
Save the change in the first front end - this pops up the Write Conflict
message to which I click Save.
