Folks, I have a form that has several TextBoxes, some of which have the TextMode set to MultiLine. Each is pre-loaded with data from a database. The user is allowed to modify each entry. The problem is that only the modified data from the SingleLine TextBoxes are returned. The original data are returned for the MultiLine TextBoxes. Also, if the page is sent to the server (for validation, for instance), only the modified data for the...

i've got a multiline textbox into which I have put string data from my sqlserver database via a strongly typed dataset (i've tried varchar and nvarchar to see if there was any difference - there doesn't appear to be as it is mapped to string in the dataset whatever). On postback, when I try to compare the datasset value with the value in the textbox (using .Text), it there are no linefeeds then everything is fine, but otherwise the...

Hi, I’m having trouble with my code and I’m starting to get lost. The Program takes the country that’s been typed in to the textbox and when the query button is clicked the program queries an access database for all records that contain the selected country. I think that part works, but I’m having trouble with the output. I want to display only certain fields of the record in a multiline text box, each matching record to a new line, like this…...

Hi, Am starting a new thread as I fear the old thread which more than a week old can go unnoticed. Sorry for the multiple mails. I took the approach of Subclassing ConfigParser to support multiline values without leading white-spaces, but am struct at which position in _read I should modify to accomodate the non-leading whitespace based multiline values.

Hi there. I'm developing a small application that uses Web Services to access database and store data. At some point, I store some images, by inserting the absolute image path into a varchar field (SQL Server 2005). Images themselves are copied to that path on the server. To read the images, I just use this path. However, some workstations have to authenticate the server that path. To

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
