I have a db maintenance plan which is set to backup (then truncate hopefully)
the transaction log. In order to backup a transaction log the db must be in
single user mode so the maint. plan fails. How do you automatically set the db,
in single user mode, for the transaction log to be backed up then truncated?
Also, I manually set the db in...

I come from Oracle background. In Oracle, when one wants to do a point
in time
recovery, one can specify recover database until timestmap. Oracle's
database maps to a db2 subsystem, i.e., in Oracle database means
entire database, i.e.. all tablespaces (including indexes).
I see only recover tablespace and recover indexspace (or index)...

This post is intended to verify that true value semantics DO NOT EXIST for the
Enum class (relative to boolean operations).
If this is true then (thus and therefore) you can not design state machines in
C# where the machine can use the enumerated 'state' to execute (thus the term
'machine' as in 'state machine') the machine operations as...

Hello,
I have a php-enabled vhost in the apache2 configuration file. In the
document root there are only html-files. So no php parsed file is
called when the domain is viewed in a browser. But sometimes I get a
warning notice about safe mode restrictions:
Warning: Unknown(): SAFE MODE Restriction in effect. The script whose

I have inherited a SQLS erver 2000 instance where the client never
implemented a backup startegy for the "master" and "msdb" databases.
MSDB is now showing errors and my only option for a restore is from a
tape backup of the server.
Any thoughts..

I'm having trouble running TSQL commands when SQL2005 is in single-
user mode.
I've restarted SQL with -m, -c, -T3608 set in the startup options.
I can get into Config manager OK, but as soon as I try to start a New
Query it complains that the DB is in single-user mode and there's
already someone connected to the DB.
Is there something...

One of our biggest database is on Suspect Mode. We searched the net for steps to recover and it is now on Emergency Mode. During transfer of data from old database to new database, we encounter errors.
We checked the MDF file and it is intact. My question is how do we recover the database from the MDF?
Help please.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it. ...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then...

I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in...
