Hi - I have set-up security for my users - the security is held in a
text field, separated by a comma.
If the users a member of groups 1, 5 and 6 - the usergroups field is set
to 1,5,6 - to check if they are allowed access to the books, I need to
check each of these numbers (by using split,"," and building a SQL
statement - this needs to check against the membergroups of each book
title - which again is set as a text field - eg....

Hi, guys - looking for a bit of help/advice on moving a database from
SQL 7 to SQL 2000.
We've a third party application which currently uses a SQL7 database.
This database has a number of views which are owned by user
INFORMATION_SCHEMA and are set as system tables. This user doesn't
actually have a login on the SQL server.
We've tried the following to recreate the database on SQL2000, but
whatever we try, the views owned by...

I can't find a cookie that my code is writing. The behavior of my
webpages indicates that the cookie IS being written SOMEPLACE.
However, I can't find it.
My client does not want the code going into production unless they can
actually see where the cookie is being written. They are concerned
that the cookie may stay around after they leave the screen and grant
authorization to other users to get to web pages that they are now
allowed...

This is driving me crazy. I get "SQL Server is unavailable or does not
exist" error while developing asp.net application in vs2003's IDE
development mode but when I install the application on the server the
error disappears and everthing seems to be ok.
The error does not appear when I connect to the same databse on the
local sql2000 server. I use the same connection string for local
WindowsXP+sql2000 server and the remote Windows 2003...

Hello
I posted this to vb.upgrade but I have had no response for three days so I
am giving this forum a try.
I have almost completed Francesco Balena's "Programming Microsoft Visual
Basic .Net", the first one not the 2003 edition, and am wondering what the
next book should be. I am a MCSD VB6 with 5 years analytical, design,
development and support experience and am just now upgrading my skills to
..Net. I have a 2 enterprise...

Hi,
I wrote the following in the SQL Server 2005 Express Management Studio
Query Analyzer
and hit execute. Even though Query Analyzer indicated success when I
hit refresh on the stored procedure folder the procedure does not show
up in the stored procedure list. When I entered 'exec Test' I get an
error indicating that SQL Server 2005 can't find the procedure. I
executed the following code 'select * from sys.all_objects where name

HI all,
I downloaded vbexpress and am trying to connect to my sql 2000 server, but
keep on getting this error messag:
"An error occured while establishing a conenction to the server. When
connecting to SQL server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that
under the default settings SQL server does not allow remote connections"
My sqlserver2000 is running. I can connect to it via VS2003, and via dBASE.
So I know its workin.

I am trying to add a SQL2000 subscriptor to a SQL2005 publisher and
distributor using the Management Studio.
I'm using a non-standard port in both ends, but I have set the port
for the TCP/IP protocol to the non-standard port in both the server
and client network configuration.
I can add the SQL2000 server to the Management Studio console without
problems, and even without haveing to specify the port I'm using (as
expected)

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
