Hi,
I'm going to be teaching an Operating Systems course in a Computer
Science department of a nearby college. I'm currently searching
around for interesting programming projects for the students. It is
my hope (and of course the reason I'm posting to this list) that I can
have the students program in Python and access some framework that
allows the exploration of various OS topics.
So even though this is more of an operation system...

hie, i would like to know whether do i need to use
the "Imports" statement in my webapplication when i create
a component in another application. i know we do not need
to do any importing when we are doing asp.net in visual
studio.net. But if i were to use other framework apart
from .net, would i need to use the "import" statement so
that i would be able to reference the component's function
in my webapplication(different application)?...

Hello every body. I am new to this forum and also in Python.
Read many things about multi threading in python. But still having
problem.
I am using Django Framework with Python having PostgreSQL as backend
database with Linux OS. My applications are long running. I am using
threading.
The problem I am facing is that the connections that are being created
for database(postgres) update are not getting closed even though my
threads had...

Is anyone working on any software at present, using django or python
in general, which serves various academic/course functions, or else
that of student-instructor arbitration? A popular example which my
university uses is the "Blackboard Academic Suite" (wpedia:Blackboard
Inc.), which offers a wide range of course functionality (prof
announcements, forums, content management, grades, file sharing, etc.)
A preliminary search on Google...

Hello everyone,
I understand that urllib and urllib2 serve as really simple page
request libraries. I was wondering if there is a library out there
that can get the HTTP requests for a given page.
Example:
URL: http://www.google.com/test.html
Something like: urllib.urlopen('http://www.google.com/

I'm about to start a fairly large project for a mid-sized business with a lot of integration with other systems (POS, accounting, website, inventory, purchasing, etc.) The purpose of the system is to try to reduce current data siloing and give employees role-based access to the specific data entry and reports they need, as well as to replace some manual and redundant business processes. The system needs to be cross-platform (Windows/Linux),...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
