How do I increase the resolution of a 640X480 jpeg image?

1 New Member
I actually want to run face detection algorithm on the image. The algorithm runs better if the resolution of the image is better. So, I wondering if there is any way to increase the resolution of the image.

Please let me know how can I do it?

If by increasing the resolution, you mean using more pixels to represent one pixel and therefore making the picture blockier, sure you can do that. If you mean make it bigger and sharper by filling in image data that doesn't exist in the file, no you can't do that. The real world isn't CSI, making a picture larger can't increase the sharpness.

Hi, Using ASP and VBScript. How to convert JPEG image into a binary data? Is it possible with a command from ASP / VBScript without having to put it into a database first? I want to take the JPEG image from a folder, convert it into a binary data, and stream it to the browser. How can I do it? Can you show a short code? Thank you for your help.

I receive a dataset from a COM component that contains a jpeg image. I'm having trouble making the image display based on any examples I've found, and the trouble seems to be that the field type is bin.hex. Can anyone point me in the right direction to converting this to a usable format (decimal?)? I'm pasting the serialized dataset at the bottom for readability (it's big with all that data in it). I convert to a dataset object with code...

I have an asp.net page that is dynamically building a table and populating cells with images (typically jpeg) and with associated metadata. How can the asp.net code efficiently determine the pixel resolution from the image file (without loading the entire image into memory on the server) to allow it to properly size the table cell and its associated Image control? Thanks, Bruce

I am trying to run a basic script that displays an existing jpeg image and writes some text over it. Sounds simple, but I cannot seem to be able to colour the font correctly. In the example below it should be black but it comes out orange. In fact, even if I change the colour to 0, 0, 255 it's orange. I've read in the PHP documentation (the user contributed notes) that there are issues with jpeg font colouring. But I've not seen any...

Dear all, I guess this is a basic question with an easy answer but I am a beginner and I would much apreciate your feedbacks. Let's say I have a library with some functionality to perform some image processing on jpeg images. One of functions in the library is similar to this: myfunction_effect (&out_instance, &mysettings, I8 *buf_in, I32

Hi, I need to know the compression type of jpeg (jpg) files. I am using the System.Drawing.Imaging and loading the file using an Image object. The next thing i do, is to examine the propertyItems property of the object which gives me an ID, a type and Value. I am able to check for an ID of 259 (259 is the compression id) for Tiff images and check the value upper and lower significant bits of the value to see the compression. But i don't...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
