GPIO line act as interrupt process on telit 862-gps

1 New Member
Hi everyone :)
(telit 862-GPS) pyton script
Is there anyone have solution how to use GPIO line on 862-GPS to act as "interupt"?

for example:
i'd like to send sms or turn on LED (immiditly) pressing button connected on GPIO line or somehow to store this state in pyton variable without additional hardware, interupting pyton run-time process.

i found solution to use flipflop to store button state and when i have idle time in code to chek this state. this solution works but it's not pyton solution.
also anyone have pyton solution for this "problem"?

regards,
Nikola

As far as I know python's threading module models after Java's. However, I can't find something equivalent to Java's interrupt and isInterrupted methods, along with InterruptedException. "somethread.interrupt()" will wake somethread up when it's in sleeping/waiting state. Is there any way of doing this with python's thread? I suppose thread interrupt is a very primitive functionality for stopping a blocked thread.

Hi, Folks- I have a question regarding the "proper" use of try: finally:... Consider some code like this: d = Device.open() try: d.someMethodThatCanRaiseError(...) if SomeCondition: raise Error # Error is subclass of Exception

We are running Postgres 7.3 on a Debian Linux system. Our python web application uses psycopg to talk to the Postgres server. Our problem is that our queries can be on millions of records of data and take a long time. At times, the user (of the web app) loses interest in waiting for the results. I can have the web app move on, but the postmaster process which is taking care of the request stays around until it completes. When we have...

I'm using VS2005 Winforms. I want a method to allow the user to be able to interrupt an SQL query if he decides he doesn't want to wait for it any longer. I've used IAsyncResult to open an async connection that runs an ExecuteNonQuery, but this method doesn't allow interruption (EndExecuteNonQuery gets blocked until the execute finishes), and ideally I'd like to interrupt a Query rather than a NonQuery. It seems to me this is a...

I have a problem where I am sending a series of commands using P/Invoke's SendInput function which may last up to a minute long. I want to offer the user a way to break the commands by pressing the Pause/Break button. The problem I have is it seems that my SendInput commands are being quickly accepted and added to a buffer, because the only time my program ever processes the Pause/Break key press event is after my SendInput commands are...

I have a Javascript program which runs in the browser and has functions work(), and stop(). It listens to commands from the server to work() and can be interrupted by the server to stop(). I am using XmlHttpRequest to talk to the server. So I use http GET to send a command "ready" to the server, which replies at some point in time by sending "work" which is invoked by the callback. As per my understanding, the browser client is single...

Hi, I'm not very good with javascript but I wanted to know if there was a simple way to change this code so instead of printing out the numbers & letters in a spiral on the page, it can be changed to print them out in a straight line or straight lines? Or if there's a simple rewrite for it.... p.s. this needs Firefox <html> <head> <script type="text/javascript"> <!-- //----------------------------------------------------------------...

Hi all, I have a telit EVK2 evaluation kit and a gm862 module. Setup was fine in my school computers and I was even able to write a small program to send and receive sms. However when I brought it to my home computer, it gave warning messages like "The module is not responding. Do you want to retry to connect?" The funny thing is, the module can be detected in Hyperterminal. And I made sure to close off Hyperterminal when using Python so...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
